While Katie Holmes is in Melbourne, Australia to film Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, her hubby Tom Cruise is also in town with their daughter Suri Cruise to keep the actress company.

So, the married couple took in a soccer match to celebrate Tom's birthday. Accompanied by Katie's current co-star Guy Pearce, the twosome took in the Collingwood-Essingdon match at MCG in Melbourne, from the vantage point of the corporate box.

So that's how Tom literally kicked off his 47th year.

Despite their confusing relationship status, Lindsay Lohan looked thrilled to be out for a romantic birthday lunch with her ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson.

The couple met up at the Malibu eatery Tra Di Noi to celebrate Lohan turning 23, with a subsequent dinner at Cecconi's restaurant where she received presents and balloons. This is, of course, all part of an ongoing, extended series of parties to commemorate the momentous occasion.

Although Samantha reportedly was determined to permanently cut Lindsay out of her life, La Lohan has been doing her darndest to rekindle her flame with the British DJ. But keeping the crazy under wraps is no small task for Lindsay. According to a source that dished to People, "No matter how many times she promises to change, Lindsay loses control and starts acting like a maniac."

One of these days, Linds, it will be too late to apologize.

We here at Socialite Life would like to take this opportunity to wish Lindsay Lohan a happy birthday! After the year she's had, LiLo is definitely lucky to have made it to 23.

She started off her 22nd year with the death of her grandfather, sadness, but made it OK by skipping his funeral and going shopping. Good job. Then her run on Ugly Betty was cut short after rumors that she temperamental on set, which was followed by the news that her new film Labor Pains would be broadcast on cable instead of making it to a theatre.

Shortly after all of this, a warrant was issued for her arrest by the Bevery Hills police steming from some bad stuff in 2007, but lucky the warrant was soon removed after Lindsay proved her good behavior.

Then there was that fun time in April with the whole Samantha Ronson craziness. Break-up, get back together, break-up, get restraining order, get kicked out of party, get back together, and break-up again. I'm exhausted just thinking about.

To prove herself in all this insanity, Lindsay made a fake eHarmony ad for Funny or Die, which was actually pretty funny. Go LiLo. She even got props for her new spray on tan, Sevin Nyne. This was then followed by the news that she got a new movie role in The Other Side.

All of this happiness was cut short by the news that Lindsay allegedly stole $50,000 worth of jewlery from an Elle magazine photoshoot. However, it was later decided that she was not getting blamed for it.  And apparently Ryan Seacrest now wants to make her the star of a new reality show. Oh, and Samantha Ronson dumped her. Again.

Lindsay was seen shopping in West Hollywood yesterday and wearing what looks like a gold band on her left ring finger. Something you need to tell us? Let me guess, you're back with Samantha only to break up next week! Right?

Well anyway, Lindsay, we're happy you made it to 23. Let's see what the next year has in store, shall we?

Although Lindsay Lohan might not be raking in the big bucks these days at the box office, the starlet is still able to make a pretty penny just for showing up to her own birthday party.

The NY Post claims that the red-headed actress received a whopping $70,000 from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for hosting a pool party at Wet Republic. The "pre-celebration," as it was billed, took place last Saturday, with Lindsay set to turn 23 tomorrow. In addition, Lindsay had a chance to promote her self-tanner Sevyn Nine at the event and involved the starlet changing into no less than 5 different bathing suits.

However, the party was clearly just a money-making gig since, as an insider pointed out, "None of her really close friends were there." The snitch added that Lohan is planning a more intimate gathering of friends and family in Los Angeles tomorrow.

The Kardashian's were out in full force this past Friday night to celebrate Khloe Kardashian's 25th birthday. Who all attended? Kourt, Kim, Reggie, Malika, Khadijah, Bobby, Rob, my mom, Jonathan, Simon, Monica, Clyde, Chanti, LaLa and Brittany. I'm assuming all of those people aren't actual Kardashian's but who knows.

According to Khloe, they all had dinner at Spago and then they headed over to Pure Nightclub where she hosted her birthday bash! The evening was topped off by her princess cake.

Kim Kardashian, went a little wild. She never drinks, but she did two shots of Patron to celebrate and she was apparently SO funny!!!

Our little buddy, Shia LaBeouf, just turned 23-years-old today and it's shocking to think of the strides the Transformers star has made in his career thus far. But LaBeouf keeps it all in perspective.

In his lengthy interview with Parade magazine, Shia says, "I know I'm one of the luckiest dudes in America right now. I have a great house. My parents don't have to work. I've got money. I'm famous. But it could all change, man. It could go away. You never know."

Well, hopefully at least let's hope it doesn't happen to him on his birthday. And would that make this dapper ensemble his birthday suit? Cute.

The Gosselin family have yet another tabloid cover to add to their collection. The most recent Us Weekly claims that reality TV family patriarch Jon Gosselin spent his wife's 34th birthday on a romantic vacation with his alleged 23-year-old girlfriend Deanna Hummel.

While Kate Gosselin celebrated her special day alone with her kids at home, Jon was reportedly out at the annual Pond Skimming race at the Spring Gruv festival in Park City.

A spy reveals that Jon and Hummel spent the evening at the Downstairs bar, where he and his group of friends were "reeking of pot." Gosselin is reported to have told a local friend at one point during the day, "Hey, it's Kate's birthday. I should get her something." However, he never ended up getting her anything.

I'm sure she can always use a gift certificate for some highlights. That hairstyle of hers looks complicated.

OMG! I can't get enough of these women! Unlike Anderson Cooper, who looked slightly embarrassed by their over-the-top birthday wishes from the award-winning Kathy Griffin and Suze Orman.



Lucky for Anderson, they stopped by to greet him, since the birthday boy had to get to bed early as he was getting up the next day at the crack of dawn to appear on Live with Regis and Kelly.

First off, we want to wish Twilight star Nikki Reed a happy birthday! The actress turns 21 today and spent some time with a friend out shopping to celebrate early. However, she won't be spending time with her New Moon costars in Italy to party it up.

E! reports that a source close to Nikki claims, "She is no longer going to Italy. She has decided to spend time with her family." Well, if this rumor that she and Kristen Stewart are fighting for the affection of Robert Pattinson is true, then this is doubly interesting news.

Last week, lifelong bachelor George Clooney had a blast celebrating his 48th birthday. But the star claims that he didn't party quite as hard as reports claim. Clooney denies an account given by a witness of seeing a "stumbling George throw up in the VIP area."

According to the Ocean's Thirteen star star, "That never happened, although I was sitting next to someone who did throw up." Unfortuantely, we'll never know what really took place since George didn't have to the foresight to videotape the incident. Sadly.

Currently, the star is filming scenes for his movie Up in the Air at Bally's Casino in Las Vegas, which probably is just as harrowing as it sounds.
