The other half is apparently too icky for their tastes. The ultimate cougar and her cub, aka Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher joined model Christy Turlington in New York City yesterday to attend the book party for Half The Sky.

Written by Nicholas Kristof and Sherly WuDunn, Half the Sky is a compilation of stories Kristof and WuDunn share are as powerful as they are heartbreaking.Their insight into gender issues and the role of women in development inspires hope, optimism, and most importantly, the will to change.Both a brutal awakening and an unmistakable call to action, this book should be read by all.

To promote her book, High on Arrival, Mackenzie Phillips went on Oprah Winfrey's talk show to drop the bombshell that she had been involved in a drug-fueled sexual relationship with her father, John Phillips, that spanned ten years.

John's ex-wife, Michelle Phillips, is speaking out about the claims, saying, "John was a bad parent, and a drug addict. But [expletive deleted] his daughter?" She adds, "I have every reason to believe it's untrue. Oprah should be more judicious about who she has on her show."

The former member of the Mamas and the Papas believes that the Mackenzie is motivated by jealousy of her other siblings.

Michelle dismisses her step-daughter's allegations by saying, "Mackenzie has a lot of mental illness. She's had a needle stuck up her arm for 35 years...She did Celebrity Rehab and now she writes a book. The whole thing is timed."

Child actress, Mackenzie Phillips, has been very open about her past drug use. But in her new book, High on Arrival, the 49-year-old daughter of musician, John Phillips, of the Mamas and the Papas, reveals that she and her dad maintained a long-term incestuous affair.

Mackenzie was 19-years-old on the eve of her wedding to Jeff Sessler, part of the Rolling Stones entourage, when her father arrived "determined to stop it."

As Phillips writes, "I had tons of pills, and Dad had tons of everything too. Eventually I passed out on Dad's bed." She adds, "My father was not a man with boundaries. He was full of love, and he was sick with drugs. I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father."

Yikes. That is not what they mean by "something new."

In the book, Phillips explains that in 1980, both she and her father checked into rehab, at which time their "sexual relationship with him had become consensual," according to People.

In a trailer for a mock biopic, George Takei takes on the role of reality TV star dad, Jon Gosselin, while Kathy Griffin throws on a pair of khakis, a trademark blond-streaked wig and a frustrated facial expression for her pitch-perfect impersonation of mother-of-eight, Kate Gosselin.

The sketch is part of Kathy's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in the comedy segment entitled, Kate is Enough: The Kate Gosselin Story. Kathy's been doing the promotional circuit for her new book, Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin.

While the comedienne has a knack for turning even the most earnest of situations into fodder for her comedy act, she reveals a serious side in her book. The redhead discusses her late brother, Kenny, who she claims told had "sexually inappropriate" discussions with her as a child.

Physically abusive to his wife and "in and out of jail," Griffin's brother died shortly after his addiction to drugs took over his existence.

Of her experiences with her troubled sibling, Kathy says, "I think when you have someone like that in your house, one of the things you learn is, you've got to laugh." I think it's safe to say, Kathy's learned how to do just that.

Doing her part to try and hold onto her A-list status, Julia Roberts can be seen here, hard at work as she films scenes for her upcoming movie, Eat, Pray, Love.

The film is a big-screen adaptation of the wildly successful Elizabeth Gilbert book of the same name and if housewives across America buy tickets with the same fervor as they purchased the novel, Julia should be set.

OK, so enough with the Julia pictures. When do we get to see Javier Bardem?

Nene Leakes may just be one of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, but when she was in her twenties, the lady as a stripper. She talks about all of it in her autobiography Never Make the Same Mistake Twice, and doesn't feel it was a mistake at all. "Yes, I was a stripper - let the judgments ensue. I'm no ashamed."

To her, the stripping is no ones business because it doesn't affect them at all, and obviously she did it for a good reason. "[I stripped] for the sake of my son, and to restore my confidence in myself. My son was in private school, his father wasn't chipping in for ­pull-ups or food, I had no job and no money coming in, the rent was past due, and the super told me and my roommate that our condo owner was about to put us out. It was about survival." Survival of the fittest my friend. Charles Darwin would have been proud.

But it wasn't just the surviving part that Silk liked. Oh, sorry, yah Silk was Nene's stripper name. For her, it was the power she wielded over the people she stripped for. ""I could make $500 off one guy just by turning him on. These men were obviously there to see what I had, and I quickly realized that those men weren't there to make me feel bad about myself." So stripping will give me self-confidence? That's good to know.

Stripping isn't the only ting Nene talks about in her book; she's quite positive that her Real Housewives of Atlanta cast mate and former friend Kim Zolciak is insane. "I'm not sure if she's been clinically diagnosed," Nene says in her book, "but I'm convinced that if she were to lie down on a doctor's couch, a psychiatrist could surmise within minutes that Kim is a wack job." I definitely don't like Kim on the show and I agree with Nene that Kim is "without question [is] the most superficial person I have ever come across in my life. If Kim doesn't have labels and nice cars and an expensive home, she will literally die ... gag me with two spoons."

Two spoons? Nice. Wait, when did you become a Valley Girl? No one says gag me with a spoon anymore Nene. Hopefully you won't make the same mistake twice. Haha! Did you see that? I put the title of the book in my joke! I am obviously so funny.

You know those books that you just can't see as movies? Is Brave New World one of them? Well, see it as one now! E! confirms that Hottie McHottster, Leonardo DiCaprio, is teaming up with director Ridley Scott to bring the Aldous Huxley novel to the big screen.

The book tells the story of a bleak future where babies come out of factories, families don't exist, and sex, drugs and materialism are a normal part of life. Sounds like a super fun future doesn't it? It almost makes sense for Leo who doesn't really seem like a family man. Perhaps he wants them not to exist. Just a thought.

Everybody at some point reads this book in their life, so it seems only appropriate that Leo, whom everybody fantasizes about at some point in their life, is starring in it. You know you've done it, look at this shirtless god! I'm hoping it's gonna be a good one! It's always so difficult with these utopian books.

Katie Price has found the person who should play her in a bio-pic: Julia Roberts. Why you may ask? In what world does Julia Roberts seem like she could play Katie Price? In Katie Price's world obviously.

The British glamour model has told reporters that after her autobiography comes out in October, she figures her life will be turned into a film after that. And are you ready for the reason Julia should play Katie in said film? Because of her hair. "I'd say Julia Roberts, and the reason is, before my career and everything, my hair was really curly. And I saw Erin Brockovich, and thought she'd be good at playing me." Wise Katie.

If Julia playing Katie means that she's going to have to wear fake, and often bedazzled, boobs and awful make-up, I don't know how I'd feel about it. I mean, right now she's busy making a movie about a woman finding herself in Eastern culture. Well, I guess Katie needs to find herself too.

Here's the new rule: if you need a film about a woman finding herself you must hire Julia Roberts. Oooo! And George Clooney can play Peter Andre! Haha! That would be amazing!

Actor/director Robert Redford is dishing all the dirt in his upcoming book, Robert Redford: The Biography. In the tome, Redford dishes that a 13-year-old Scarlett Johansson was difficult to direct on the set of their 1998 film together, The Horse Whisperer.

As Redford tells it, it was Johansson's overbearing mother who was the source of the discord and ScarJo's "constant back talk," according to a source who dished to the New York Daily News. Although Redford gives the actress credit for her talent, a crew member confesses that Scarlett's mother's vision for the film clashed with Robert's.

As for Barbra Streisand, Robert's co-star in The Way We Were, she was perhaps too fond of the red-headed star. The brother of Redford's first wife explains, "She had a hard time controlling her emotions, and when she played scenes with him--like the fireside courtship scene at Malibu--she was drooling." However, "Bob was very tactful."

But really, can you blame her?

Having recently shown her fans and GOOP newsletter subscribers how to cook a chicken, Gwyneth Paltrow is now turning her attention inward.

The movie star's most recent contribution to her website includes a list of must-read books for the summer. For this task, Gwyneth enlisted the help of some friends, who advised their buddy what novels she should be reading.

I'm shocked to hear she might actually have some leisure time to sit down with a good book. Did someone tell her reading burns calories?
