Matt Damon & Brad Pitt: Best Friends George Could Ask For

Share

New dream? To be bffs with Brad Pitt and Matt Damon. I mean, not that I haven't always wished that, but honestly these two are pretty entertaining. Did you hear what they ended up doing to George Clooney? Matt relayed the whole thing on the Late Show With David Letterman; so make sure to check out the clip of it after the jump!

Basically, Matt, Brad and George were in all at the Venice Film Festival when a little joke presented itself. Mr. Pitt, sick of getting asked when he and Angelina Jolie would tie the knot, said that he would marry Angie when George married his boyfriend. Somehow the humor was lost on the Italians, who then questioned Matt about it.

"So this Italian journalist comes in and goes, Matt, is it true what Brad say?" Matt tells Letterman. "And I have no idea what he is talking about. But you know, I go, 'Yeah, of course it's true.' And he says, 'Do you mean George Clooney have a boyfriend?' And now I'm trying to keep a straight face and I go, 'Yeah, of course he's got a boyfriend. And he wants to legally marry him. We've been on him about this for years.."

Ready for the best part? At a press conference George was doing to promote his new film Men Who Stare At Goats with Ewan McGregor, one journalist stood up, told George he was gay, and then proceeded to strip while asking George to pick him.

Seriously, most entertaining thing ever! Make sure to check out the video of Matt on Letterman after the jump. You won't be disappointed.

Brad Pitt Tours Spanish Urban Renewal Project

Share

After dining with friends last night in Madrid, Spain, Brad Pitt visited an urban renewal project in the industrial city of Aviles in northern Spain designed by famed Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer.

"He is interested in supporting the project, the cultural as well as the architectural aspects," Aviles mayor Pilar Varela told reporters.

Pitt was especially interested in the aspects of the project aimed at boosting environmental sustainability, said Varela. "This is why Brad Pitt has came to visit the site," she said, adding it was too soon to say how the star would participate in the project.

Pitt's "Make It Right Project" calls for 150 homes to be built in the area of New Orleans where levees broke, and floodwater pushed homes from their foundations, when Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005.

Now all Brad needs to do is build me a dream home, and I'll love him even more.

Brad Pitt's 'Basterds' Bumped Off By 'Final Destination'

Share

The box office success of Quentin Tarantino's action flick, Inglourious Basterds, has enjoyed remarkable box office success, due in no small part to the magnetic pull of its A-list star Brad Pitt.

However, it seems that even Brad's high-profile appear could keep the film in the top spot forever. Horror movie sequel, The Final Destination, knocked Pitt's WWII picture out of the number one position at the box office.

But, as you can see from the movie star's jovial demeanor here out to dinner at a fancy restaurant in Spain, he's managing to cope just fine.

'Inglourious Basterds' Kills At The Box Office

Share

Despite its awkward spelling, Quentin Tarantino's latest film, Inglourious Basterds, kicked ass and took names at the box office on its opening weekend. The WWII film, starring Brad Pitt, took in an impressive $37.6 million in ticket sales with its debut over the weekend.

This weekend's opening marks the best ever for director, Quentin. A box office analyst for Hollywood.com interprets that as follows: "Tarantino helped build the house of Miramax. He's proving right now that he's helping to build the house of Weinstein."

It seems Quentin's insistence on casting Brad Pitt was a smart move. He might be able to save the A-listers from oblivion after all!

Quentin Tarantino Loves Brad Pitt, Lindsay Lohan Is Slowly Becoming A Red Head Again

Share

The celebrities were in full force at the Cinema Society and Hugo Boss screening of Inglorious Basterds. Everyone from Quentin Tarantino to Lindsay Lohan to Chace Crawford came out for the show and showed off themselves.

Quentin just couldn't stop talking about Brad Pitt. Seriously. It's like he wants Brad for himself or something. "For the most part when we were on set he would stay in character," Quentin told reporters. "It was like, 'Why drop the accent when you don't have to?' And I have always liked it when actors do that."

In case you don't know, Brad plays Lieutenant Aldo Raine in the film set against the back drop of WWII with Aldo, a nice Southern boy, hunting Nazi with his Nazi hunter party. Brad went totally method on this one. He was in character from the moment he got on set to the moment he left and Quentin ate it up. "He'd get into Aldo's mindset and stay there. He could be Brad and make a Brad joke but it was always in Aldo's dialect. Aldo is more crude than Brad. So that allowed Brad to go all the way with that. It was wonderful as a writer to be confronted by my character all day, and to talk to him and ask questions."

While Quentin was busy gushing about Brad, my eyes obviously went to newly hired and recently blonded Lindsay. It seems like she's not doing a good job of keeping that blonde hair up. I'm seeing lots of red roots and it's not cute. Not at all. Lindsay, I thought we talked about this. If you're going to go blonde and look ridiculous, at least manage it better. Thank you.

Most of the celebs at the event looked pretty good though. Chace looked gorgeous as usual. It's like he some sort of super god that was put on this earth so we mere mortals can gawk at his beauty. Right? The other stars of Inglorious Basterds looked lovely as well. Check them out! Brad was a no show though. Maybe all the talk about how amazing freaked him out. Anyone else notice how weird he gets when talking about himself? Watch this interview and you'll see what I mean. Now if you'll excuse me, Quentin is calling. He wants to tell me how much he loves me. Haha. I wish.

Brad Pitt Not Ruining Sherlock Holmes

Share

Whoa, that was a close call people. London's Daily Mirror reported that Brad Pitt was set to join the cast of Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes, but Us Weekly has debunked the rumor.

According to the rumor, Brad was set to arrive in London this week and shoot scenes as Sherlock Holmes nemesis Moriarty. The original report said the Guy decided to add Brad after seeing first cut of the film.

All of this is completely false though, which kinda makes me happy. The studio told Us, "The report in today's London Mirror is completely inaccurate. Brad Pitt is not joining the cast of Sherlock Holmes and we're extremely pleased with the production of the film. As planned, it will be released on Christmas Day, 2009. In order to complete the movie, we've scheduled a few days on set to shoot a couple of additional scenes, obtain pick-up shots, and perfect some of the visual effects elements, all of which is standard filmmaking practice."

Maybe they decided not to use him for fear that he would roll some perfect joints and Robert Downey Jr. wouldn't be able to contain himself. That would just not be good for the film, now would it? I'm quite happy he's not going to be in the movie. I feel like he wouldn't have made it work at this stage in his career. Maybe like ten years ago, I could totally see him in something like this, but not right now.

Know what I can see him as? Mayor of New Orleans. He needs to not be all "oh no being the mayor isn't for me" and get off his ass and run. But can someone tell him to shave the goatee? I'm just utterly upset by it. Thank you.

Brad Pitt Can Roll The Perfect Joint, But He Doesn't Do That Anymore

Share

Brad Pitt was a guest on Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday, and Bill got Brad to talk like Brad has never talked before. Bill got Brad to talk about his joint rolling technique, his PR invincibility, his stances on gay marriage, and life at home with the kids.

As for his joint rolling technique, Pitt said, "I'm an artist." It's an art that he doesn't practice anymore though. "I'm a dad now. You want to be alert and my eyes used to glaze over when I did that," he told Maher.

Do you think Brad has really quit pot smoking? Sound off in the comments.

Part two of the interview is after the jump.

Brad Pitt Not Joining The Political Machine

Share

Although people in New Orleans love him and would gladly vote for him, Brad Pitt has written off the rumor that he is going to run for mayor. In an interview with NBC's Today, Brad talked about his charity Make It Right, which works to build hopes for the displaced victims of Hurricane Katrina.

He said he would serve if chosen, but he quickly followed that up with "I don't have a chance." What platform would he be running on? "I'm running on the gay marriage, no religion, legalization and taxation of marijuana platform." I like it. I'd vote for you.

Make It Right is in the process of reaching it's goal of 150 homes rebuilt by the end of 2010, but Brad is still frustrated that he can't do even more for the city. Don't worry Brad, I'm sure the 150 homes you built, plus the fact that major architect Frank Gehry will be designing things, still makes you the most popular person in New Orleans.

Brad has been looking so distinguished recently with the graying and the goatee. I don't know if I like it or now. I do like that he's going to be on Real Time With Bill Maher though. That should be fun. Maybe he'll reveal even more places that he and partner Angelina Jolie like to have sex. I feel like that's the only thing the two of them will ever tell us about. Oh well.

Make sure to go after the jump to watch the video of Brad's Today interview. It's a good one. Trust me.
