While on tour to promote New Moon (in theaters this Friday), Kellan Lutz sat down with Wicked Local to talk vampires, Twilight and why he became an actor.  For those who have been living under a rock (hi, dad), Lutz plays Emmett Cullen in the highly-addictive series. Vampires are swell.

Lutz's advice to the manly men: Don't fear the Twilight. It's action-packed and full of fisticuffs to balance out the mushy-lovey goop.

"The trailer for New Moon speaks more to the guys. It's more action-packed than Twilight," Lutz said, adding that the action is even more cranked up for Eclipse, the third entry in the franchise, which is slated for a June 30, 2010, release.

'I did so much fight training and so many stunts for Eclipse,'" Lutz said. 'I try to do my own stunts. I nag and I nag. I wear my scars and bruises as tattoos. It's so much fun knowing that that's you doing it. Eclipse is going to be such a guy-friendly movie.'"

Our Kellan is a bit of a smarty-pants.  He was on scholarship at Chapman University in California for chemical engineering.  Whoa, nelly!  He dropped out to pursue acting, so that he could make his mother proud. 

"'Living in L.A., everyone acts, so I just fell into it. My mom was so mad because I threw all my scholarships away. My mom didn't know what acting was and she was fearful for me. She told me I needed a backup plan, and from that day on, I decided I didn't need a backup plan because I wasn't going to fail. If you have a backup plan, that leaves room for failure. From that day forward it was just proving to myself that I could do it."

Bless his heart.

Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Bronson Pelletier and Kiowa Gordon, along with Taylor Lautner, make up the New Moon Wolf Pack, and they spoke to the press at the New Moon press junket yesterday.

The guys clearly enjoy working together, as they arrive on stage all of them start saying "sexy time." However it took them a while to get sexy. The group went through four months of training. They haven't seen the film yet, and want to wait until it's completely finished.

They group took the fact that they are Native Americans very seriously; they didn't want themselves to be seen in a bad light. Alex Meraz said that he wants Hollywood to change it's take on Native Americans.

Chaske Spencer said the the Wolf Pack was like a rock band. They listened to a lot of 50 Cent and Beastie Boys when they worked out. They are thinking about getting the actual Quileute Wolf Pack tattoo together!

The four of them were actually bronzed to appear much darker than the Cullens were are obviously lightened. As for being shirtless during the cold, Chaske said their nipples could cut glass. As for being shirtless, Alex Meraz said it's like a costume, you wear it, you own it.

It's hard to believe that Summit Entertainment already has the Eclipse stars out in Vancouver, filming scenes for the third Twilight movie, when New Moon has yet to hit theaters.

But believe it we must, when we see these photos of the shirtless wolfpack--which includes Bronson Pelletier (Jared), Alex Meraz (Paul), Tyson Houseman (Quil Ateara), Kiowa Gordon (Embry Call)--on the movie set in Vancouver in these EXCLUSIVE photos from Splash News Online.

While the boys will bare their chests for the camera, between takes, they take the opportunity to stay warm by bundling up in matching bathrobes and Ugg boots because it is mighty nipply out!

No signs of the Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, but there were plenty of other Eclipse stars out and about over the weekend.

Some of the Eclipse cast members went out for dinner Saturday night at Gothams in Vancouver. Kellan Lutz, Bryce Dallas Howard and I believe Tinsel Korey along with several members of the Wolf Pack including Alex Meraz, Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier and Kiowa Gordon.

Xavier Samuel and Cameron Bright were spotted doing a little shopping yesterday, as well as the previously mentioned Bronson Pelletler.

Plus, Billy Burke and Taylor Lautner were both snapped arriving at LAX. Taylor attended the The 7th Annual Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party held at Milk Studios on Friday, September 25, 2009.

Well, they sure have figured out quickly as to how to market themselves. Alex Meraz is no stranger to going shirtless, but the other boys, Chaske Spencer, Branson Pelletier and Kiowa Gordon are now joining in on the shirtless fun brought to us by USA Today.

Among wolf pack job requirements: the ability to work half-naked no matter what the weather in the Vancouver, B.C., area, where the film has been shooting for several weeks.

"It's not pleasant for the actors," says director Chris Weitz. "But they have all been good-natured. They show up on location in drenching, cold rain, and I say, 'OK, off with the robes.' "

Off with their shirts, I say!

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Summit Entertainment has cast Native American actors Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman for The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Spencer is Lakota (Sioux), Pelletier is Cree-Metis, Meraz is Purepecha (Tarasco), Gordon is Hualapai and Houseman is Cree.

The quintet will join Taylor Lautner in portraying members of the wolf pack in New Moon, in which the pack defends humans against vampires.

New Moon stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson reprising their Twilight roles as Bella and Edward with Chris Weitz directing. The pic, centering on Bella being drawn into the world of werewolves, will be released domestically on Nov. 20.
