Ashley Greene Celebrates Her 'Maxim' Cover In Style

To show their appreciation for its newest cover girl, Maxim magazine threw a swank soiree in New York City to celebrate the December issue of the mag, featuring New Moon star, Ashley Greene.

Greene is clearly happy with the final result of the photoshoot for the cover, telling E!, "The cover...I absolutely adore it, and I don't think it could have come out any better for me. I'm very much a Jacksonville beach girl. I love jean shorts, T-shirts, the beach."

Eschewing her now trademark red, Ashley showed up in a black cap-sleeve dress and it looks like she's taken out all that glorious weave she was wearing at the Los Angeles premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon. At the event, she was joined by fellow pretty people, Selita Ebanks, Colin Egglesfield and Shaun Sipos.

Ashlee Simpson & Colin Egglesfield Leave 'Melrose Place' With A Bang

Literally. They're going to be banging each other.

Colin Egglesfield tells E! Online that he and his Melrose Place co-star, Ashlee Simpson, will be engaging in a "crazy naked" sex scene to help the twosome depart from the series. Egglesfield describes the look by saying, "It involves us both wearing half-loin cloths that they had to tape to us. There are very few clothes involved in the near future."

E! Online also says an inside source indicates that there will, in fact, be two hot love scenes between the troubled characters in which they are almost completely nude. While this is all very sexy for the two, Colin cautions, "Things get pretty violent and kind of crazy. Auggie ends up hitting the bottle and falls off the deep end a little bit."

Sounds like the perfect evening of television for the Simpson-Wentz family to gather round the television and watch together over a cup of hot cocoa.

TV Guide Hot List Party: Cougars, Vampires & Aliens, Oh My!

Sporting a super-short hairdo, striking star of V, Morena Baccarin, took to the red carpet for TV Guide Magazine's Hot List Party in Los Angeles in a sleek, black dress. She's so gorgeous, I almost believe her when she tells me that all she wants is peace for this planet.

Going for a decidedly more vampy look (appropriately so), star of Vampire Diaries, Kayla Ewell donned a fitted fire-engine red dress and bright lipstick for the occasion.

Representing for the Cougar Town ladies, Busy Phillips and Courteney Cox, showed up to the event as well. Busy was all California sunshine with her long blond locks, a sea-foam green curve-hugging dress and peep-toe heels. One would hardly guess these two were in the same climate, with Courteney all bundled up in a gun-metal gray jacket and black dress underneath.

But Adam Lambert takes the cake with his tight jeans and black porcupine do standing straight up in the air. I wonder who had that hairstyle first, him or Kate Gosselin?

Nick Zano Moves From 'Cougar Town' To 'Melrose Place'

Now that Colin Egglesfield is departing from Melrose Place, his dark, brooding shoes need to be filled by another pretty face. And it seems as if producers of the CW series are hoping that Cougar Town star, Nick Zano, will be able to do just that.

In keeping with the network's stance that they are hoping to go in a different direction with the series, Zano is being cast in a decidedly more light-hearted role.

Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello talked with Todd Slavkin, who described Zano's doctor character as "irreverent and funny...He doesn't take life very seriously. Medicine can be very fun as well as serious to him, and he ends up lightening up Lauren."

It's always good news when an actor is given a role in which he can flex both his abdominal and comedic acting muscles.

Colin Egglesfied Talks 'Melrose Place' Departure

Now that the news has broken of Colin Egglesfield and Ashlee Simpson being bumped off Melrose Place, Colin is chatting with E! Online about his feelings about leaving the show.

Egglesfield explains, "[They said it] was a network decision and obviously the ratings aren't what they need or want them to be, so they're going to try things to shake things up...they said the network thought Auggie was a little too dark, with his alcoholism." Colin says it was explained to him that his talent wasn't called into question, but that "in the landscape of Melrose they wanted to change the tone of the show."

With one last episode to shoot on Monday, Colin said of all his co-workers, "But hey, I'm still friends with them, and I'd just like to say to everyone out there who's been watching and supporting, thanks from the bottom of my heart, because this is something that I love to do."

BREAKING: Ashlee Simpson & Colin Egglesfied Fired From 'Melrose Place'

Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello reports that Melrose Place actors, Colin Egglesfield and Ashlee Simpson, have been let go from the CW series.

He chatted with executive producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer. As Slavkin explains the choice to oust the twosome, "Well, we always knew that this murder mystery would end in episode 12. And we always knew that [Ashlee's] character of Violet would be instrumental in that as a suspect, and [Colin's character of] Augie as well. And once that murder mystery was solved, she would go on her way."

As for how Ashlee and Coline reacted to the news, Todd claims, "They're total professionals and they took it like professionals...But because they knew ahead of time [that leaving was a possibility], it wasn't a complete shock."

Both executive producers claim the casting decision is not directly related to the show's disappointing ratings. Swimmer adds, "I think for us, it's just a matter of moving on in the direction we [always] wanted to go."

36th Daytime Emmy Awards Red Carpet Displays Evening Elegance

A slew of elegantly dressed soap opera stars and daytime talk show hosts hit the red carpet for this year's Daytime Emmys, looking like they were ready for a long night of celebrating.

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres showed off her trademark tomboyish style in a crisp white dress shirt, suspenders and black tuxedo pants while her partner, Portia de Rossi wore a midnight blue off-the-shoulder dress.

Tyra Banks kept it simple and elegant in a pair of neutral-toned heels and matching clutch, simple straight hair parted down the middle and a very flattering coral-colored, asymmetrical sheath dress. Girlfriend was on point.

But Brenda Dickson took the cake, with her flowing red locks, and body-hugging snakeskin dress. Her low-cut, black-lace plunging neckline says, "Welcome to my bosom!"

Tyra Banks & Rachael Ray Triumph At 2009 Daytime Emmys

Tyra Banks has won herself yet another Emmy at this year's Daytime Emmy Awards, as well as Rachael Ray, who snagged the prize in the "entertainment" talk show category. Because our girl Ty-Ty likes to get all investigative reporter and shit, she won the category of "informative" talk show.

Queen of talk, Ellen DeGeneres, has won the award for best talk show host for the past four years, but was unseated from her throne by the ladies from The View, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters. Really?

Speaking of hosts, star of Ugly Betty, Vanessa Williams, took on hosting duties for the evening at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

Other awards went to The Bold and The Beautiful for best drama, best male lead to Christian LeBlanc for his role on The Young and the Restless and best female lead to Susan Haskell for her part on One Life To Live.

'Melrose Place' Stars Get Their Party On

Melrose Place is coming back with a vengeance! In celebration of the forthcoming premiere of the revamped series (the show premiere's on September 8th), the stars of the show, plus a few of the other CW stars, hit the red carpet for the Melrose Place Premiere Party.

David Cassidy's daughter, Katie Cassidy, who plays Ella on the show, was a standout on the red carpet in her deep blue sparkly number.

With word that Heather Locklear may be returning to the series, I'm betting that Melrose Place just may outshine The CW's 90210 reboot.
