DJ AM's Death Ruled Accidental By Medical Examiner

Concerning the recent death of DJ AM (real name Adam Goldstein) spokesperson for the New York City Medical Examiner tells People magazine, "We've done the testing and investigation in conjunction with the NYPD and in our opinion this was an accidental overdose rather than suicide."

According to the statement, the drugs found in his system include oxycodone, cocaine, hydrocodone and a variety of anti-anxiety drugs. However, it hasn't been stated whether or not Goldstein had prescriptions for any of the meds.

And we were so hoping LaToya Jackson would have another case to solve.

Celebrity Friends Mourn DJ AM At The Hollywood Palladium

Celebrating the life of musician, DJ AM, a fitting tribute was paid at the Hollywood Palladium by many of his famous friends following his burial. Coincidentally, it's the same venue where DJ AM spun with Jay-Z following his plane crash.

AM's ex-fiancee, Nicole Richie, showed up with the crowd of mourners looking extremely pregnant. Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan arrived at the event together, but after finding themselves the object of a paparazzi onslaught, they jumped back into their car for an alternate entrance.

Robert Downey Jr. also showed up with his wife for the event and like the other VIPs, he arrived early and went inside via a separate entrance.

DJ AM Is Laid To Rest

People magazine reports that Adam Goldstein, AKA DJ AM, was laid to rest on Wednesday in a small funeral at LA's Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary. Among those in attendance were close friend Travis Barker, girlfriend Hayley Wood, and actor Scott Caan.

The ceremony was relatively small and didn't include some of the big celebs who were extremely saddened by the DJ's passing. Girlfriend Hayley looked particularly upset and couldn't stop crying. Although sources say the two had split, Hayley claims that they were still very much together at the time of his death.

A memorial for the late DJ will be held on Thursday evening at the Hollywood Palladium. And invitation for the memorial reads, "The format of the evening will be in the style of an open 12-step meeting," and will be "a gathering to celebrate the life of our friend Adam Goldstein." Now if he'd only gotten to that 12-step-program a little bit sooner, maybe none of this sadness would have happened.

DJ AM And Hayley Wood Were Together At Time Of Death

Ready to add more drama to the recent death of Adam Goldstein, AKA DJ AM, his most recent girlfriend, Hayley Wood, has opened up about the musician's death for the first time. Although sources have claimed that they pair split after a year together, Hayley says it's not true.

She said in an exclusive statement to Us Weekly, "Any indication that this horribly tragic accident happened because of a rumored breakup is not only untrue but disgusting. We were very much together at the time of his passing, and I love him very much."

I honestly can't wait to hear what is going to pop up next about DJ AM. Apart from being incredibly sad, his death seems to have popped open all these random things. DJ AM Agreed To Go To Rehab Hours Before Death

More information has emerged surrounding the death of Adam Goldstein, AKA DJ AM, who was found dead in his New York City apartment on Friday, August 28. It's pretty upsetting and will most likely make those who love and miss him wish he'd done what he said he'd do sooner.

Apparently just hours before his death, Adam had agreed to check back into rehab to help his addiction. The New York Post reports that his West Coast manager and recovery sponsor were so worried but his drug filled behavior, that a caught a flight to New York Wednesday night to confront him on Thursday morning.

Adam didn't let his manager in, but saw his sponsor, and apparently lit up a crack pipe and took some pills in front of him. He then promised his sponsor and manager that he would check into a rehab clinic in California after his performance in Las Vegas Friday night. Sadly, that didn't happen.

When police searched his apartment, they found painkillers Vicodin and oxycodone, as well as anti-anxiety pills Xanax and lorazepam. The only drug found in the apartment with a proper prescription was a medication for diarrhea. According to sources, Adam had been having severe anxiety with flying, and constantly asking for anti-anxiety pills. It is unclear whether in stemmed from his near death plane crash last September, or if he had the anxiety, and the plane crash just didn't help.

Moral of the story kids? Don't do drugs. Drugs are bad. Drugs kill famous celebrities and no one likes that, do they?

Mandy Moore & Blink 182 Pay Tribute To DJ AM

Not surprisingly, the cause of Adam Goldstein aka DJ AM's death remains undetermined at this moment. New York City Medical Examiner spokesperson Ellen Borakove told People on Saturday, "The cause of death was inconclusive because we need to do additional testing, which would include toxicology and tissue testing. We don't expect any results for several weeks."

"It's under investigation and when the investigation is complete we will have a cause of death and a manner of death," she said, adding that the ME's office is investigating in conjunction with the New York City Police Department.

Meanwhile tributes continue to poor in for DJ AM. Former girlfriend Mandy Moore released a statement Saturday. Moore says Goldstein was "the very definition of a true friend." She added: "To say that he will be missed beyond words is an understatement. My heart goes out to his loved ones."

Also Blink-182 performed a very emotional concert last night (member Travis Barker was in the plane crash with DJ AM last year). "This night is really hard for us on stage," bassist Mark Hoppus said from the stage. "We lost a dear friend yesterday. His name was Adam Goldstein. You probably know him as DJ AM. He was an innovator and a genius and he loved music more than anything else. Above all he was a dear friend."

During the concert, the trio asked the crowd for a moment of silence to honor their "dear friend Adam." As the lights dimmed, audience members raised their lighters above their heads in a show of respect. Fans also yelled out, "I love you guys," as members of the group began to cry.

A song in Goldstein's honor followed. "This song is called 'Down.' and it goes something like this," said Hoppus (check out the video of the performance after the jump). As guitarist Tom DeLonge delivered the lyric "I need you so bad," tears rolled down the cheeks of all three members of Blink-182.

"We are doing our very best to get through this show," said Hoppus, "but right now it's very hard." Travis who rubbed his eyes and held his head in his hands near the end of the song, left the stage before the song concluded.

DJ AM's Recent Breakup With Hayley Wood And Post-Traumatic Stress

The tragic death of DJ AM came at the end of a couple of rough weeks for Adam Goldstein.

Things on the surface seemed to be fine, he threw out the first pitch at the Mets game last Sunday, Aug. 23th and hung out with friends earlier in the week. However, his breakup with girlfriend Hayley Wood, left him distraught.

A source told People, "She ended it, and he didn't want it to end. The breakup hurt him. He hadn't been in a good place lately. For the past week, he wasn't really around, he was keeping to himself, and he was blowing people off," says the source.

Also, Goldstein was apparently having a very hard time dealing with post-traumatic stress from the plane crash he survived in September of last year.

I can't even imagine. Rest in peace.
