Drew Barrymore Bringing Back 'Charlie's Angels' To TV

Drew Barrymore, along with original Charlie's Angels producer Leonard Goldberg are involved in bringing the iconic 1970's jiggle crime show back to ABC.

According to Variety, insiders said that ABC Entertainment Group topper Steve McPherson is particularly high on this project. A a pilot is expected to be greenlit. Josh Friedman, Goldberg and Barrymore will exec produce with Nancy Juvonen who is Jimmy Fallon's wife.

Drew Barrymore Is Better Than Fine At 'Everbody's Fine' Screening

Voluptuous movie star Drew Barrymore has embraced Victoria Beckham's fashions by sporting a purple, jewel-toned, strapless gown that showed off the actress' enviable curves.

With her hair pulled back and some bright red lipstick, Barrymore appeared fresh-faced at the screening of her film Everybody's Fine at the 2009 AFI Film Festival. Victoria herself has been seen out in the dress, but if you ask me, Drew fills it out much better than the workout-obsessed Posh Spice.

Also looking like a million bucks, Kate Beckinsale showed off her tan limbs in a strapless, silver mini-dress. Meanwhile, Samantha Morton went a different route in a frumpy, blue dress that added a considerable bulk to her frame. She's clearly got a curvaceous bod underneath that Barbara Bush costume, if only she'd just set it free.

America Likes Zombies More Than Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore's first go at directing was apparently no match for ass kickin' and zombies. If box office numbers are any indication, newbie director Ruben Fleicher's flick Zombieland was the reason anyone went to the movies this weekend. Topping the number one spot at the box office, Zombieland raked in 25 million dollars since opening this past Friday.

Unfortunately for her, Drew's directorial debut (she acts in the movie, too) Whip it!, ambled in at sixth place making a mere 4.9 million dollars this weekend. While I'm sure Drew's feel-good comedy about roller derby chicks has its' fair share of good moments, it's hard to compete with Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg kicking ass in a world with few uninfected humans left.

It's no surprise that Zombie films do better when our economy is down. Dawn of the Dead rocked during the recession of the 80s, and maybe somewhere between fear for the future and the possibility of impending doom, we can relate to what's going on. Not to mention if we're loving vampires right now, zombies can't be too far off.

Another reason this movie probably did so well was the epic cameo. For the purpose of experiencing the surprise, I shall say no more. But let's just say it kills. The zombies, and the cameo.

Drew Barrymore Is A Woman's Woman

Whip It! focuses on the bonding effect that team sports can have between women, but actress and director, Drew Barrymore believes that sense of camaraderie shouldn't end with team sports.

Barrymore tells InStyle, "I don't understand women who are competitive, apart from positive forums like athletics. One person is a powerful thing, but a tribe is unstoppable."

Another unstoppable element in Drew's life is her fame--and she often wishes it weren't so. Barrymore confesses, "Some days I want nothing more than a brilliant mask so I could look like someone else and go wander the streets and be free."

Well, hopefully, these bright red sunglasses will help throw at least a few people off her trail.

Drew Barrymore Whips It Good In A Tight Black Dress

For the Hollywood premiere of Drew Barrymore's film, Whip It!, the look for the evening was black and shiny. Barrymore, who directed the film, showed off her curves in a fitted black sheath dress and a pair of peep-toe red satin pumps. The 34-year-old actress was also sporting a short, blond do, having cut off her two-toned locks just in time for the Emmy Awards not to long ago.

Fellow co-stars, Juliette Lewis and Ellen Page also opted for a little black dress. Page paired her simple frock with a pair of ankle boots and Juliette, well, was Juliette in a sparkly black number, wacky patterned tights and a big smile.

Of course, Steven Spielberg--who directed Drew as a child star in E.T.--was out to support Barrymore in her directorial debut.

While Drew Barrymore lost out to her Grey Gardens co-star Jessica Lange in the lead actress in a mini-series category, she looked graceful and appreciative throughout the whole evening.

She wore a pink-hued tulle strapless gown by Monique Lhuillier with beaded trim. She was accompanied by boyfriend Justin Long.

Drew Barrymore Will Race Ford Focus On Jay Leno's Show

Having debuted her roller derby flick, Whip It! at the Toronto Film Festival--as well as a wacky new hairdo--Drew Barrymore has made it clear that she feels the need, the need for speed.

So, it should come as no surprise that the adventurous actress has been named as one of several celebrities participating in Jay Leno's Green Car Challenge on his new prime-time TV show.

On Friday, Drew will be the first to race in the sponsored Ford focus on a track specially built around the for this purpose. Just don't get in her way, or she may have to hip check you on that shit.

Drew Barrymore Left 'Whip It!' Bruised But Smiling

When actress Drew Barrymore first considered making a movie about a female roller derby league in Texas, she said she was drawn to the story because "I like movies about girls who are capable."

But telling the story of Whip It! came at a price for the cast, who endured grueling practices in order to learn the roller derby moves. Barrymore admits at the film's premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, "We got hurt all the time."

Drew says the training was both "scary" and "painful," but adds, "Thank God nobody was seriously hurt, but it was rough. We wanted it to look authentic." Well it certainly does, from where I'm standing. I've never seen anyone accessorize a shiner so nicely.
