Ooooowee, Oprah! Your private jet is more interesting than your show! And the new Melrose Place!
RadarOnline.com reported today that
Corrine Gehrls, a flight attendant, has sued
Oprah Winfrey's company, Harpo, Inc. because of her wrongful termination. This was due to false accusations that she and a married pilot joined the Mile High Club whilst O peacefully dreamed about solid-gold hamburgers. What? I can't be the only one who dreams about solid-gold hamburgers, people.
Anyway, the story gets even more interesting as the suit also names fellow flight attendants Myron Gooch and Kirby Bumpus (who happens to be
Gayle King's daughter!), who falsely reported said inappropriate behavior to the all-mighty O. Apparently, Gehrls and Chief Pilot Terry Pansing were having a dispute with Gooch about work schedules. Gooch then conspired with Bumpus to get the two fired. J'accuse!
Pansing and Gooch took polygraph tests to prove their innocence to Lord Oprah, but she was unswayed by the evidence and refused to reinstate them.
Gehrls is asking for $300,000 in damages.
Admittedly, Oprah makes 300 large just by wiping the morning crust out of her eyes, but Corrine better run to the hills nonetheless. No one puts Oprah in a corner! By the way, is anyone else wondering why
Gayle King's daughter is a flight attendant on Air Oprah?
Here's Oprah a few weeks ago, leaving her hotel in Copenhagen while there lobbying to get the
2016 Olympics to Chicago with her best buddy, Barack Obama. I'll bet they comforted themselves after
that disappointment with golden burgers.
