Rihanna Channels Grace Jones At Intermix Party



As just one of many celebrities turning up at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for Spring 2010, pop star Rihanna slunk her way over to the Intermix Fashion's Night Out Party in a sleek, all-black ensemble.

The young singer's edgy look consisted of a short, black mini-dress, complete with a hood and futuristic sunglasses. While the look is unconventional by modern standards, it's not completely unprecedented.

Ri-Ri's space-age style once again evokes the image of fashion and music icon, Grace Jones, whose look throughout the years has often included each element displayed by the young Barbados singer at last night's soiree.

News Bites: Amazing Grace Jones



-Kicking off the Sydney Festival with a free concert, Grace Jones went into her magical closet of costumes and pulled out some impressive looks for her Australian concertgoers. Sadly, Ralph Fiennes doesn't appear to have been in the vicinity, or this could have been exponentially more entertaining.

-Grieving over the very recent and sudden loss of his son, John Travolta is still officially scheduled to present at tonight's Golden Globes, although it's not sure whether or not the actor will be in attendance at the event.

-10 days overdue, Charlotte Church welcomed her second child into the world via home delivery. Church and her rugby player boyfriend Gavin Henson were introduced to their baby boy just after midnight. According to a rep for Charlotte, "They haven't yet announced a name for their son, but we can confirm that he weighed in at 7lb 5oz and that mum and baby are both doing just fine."

Grace Jones Struggles Not To Eat Joseph Fiennes



The GQ 10th Annual Men of the Year event took place in Munich, Germany and basically was an opportunity former Bond vixen Grace Jones to take full advantage of her proximity to Joseph Fiennes to molest him.

Assuredly, there are pictures of her jamming her tongue into his ear that didn't make their way onto any blogs. Jones has released her first album in 19 years and is talking about releasing a film that chronicles her performances from the past "four or five years."

Fantastic! Any footage of this woman needs to be made public immediately.

Sassy On-Stage Performances At 2008 MTV Europe Awards




Katy "I Never Met A Costume I Didn't Like" Perry was extending her own personal Halloween on stage at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards. By turns wearing a sparkly Barack Obama t-shirt, a football player uniform and...a carousel.

Pink changed out of her red-carpet get-up and was pretty in plaid, showing off her muscular figure. Picking a pillow fight with her would not be recommended under normal circumstances, but since it was part of her act, no one got hurt.

Sir Paul McCartney took home the prize for Ultimate Legend in his hometown of Liverpool, where the awards were heldl. The former Beatle shared the stage with Bono, who presented the award to Paul.

But my favorite person I'm seeing on the stage was Grace Jones, with her sparkly hat and fierce silhouette. Like an androgynous (yes, even more so) sexy Mr. Peanut minus the monocle--a look that never fails to amuse me. The only thing missing would be if she had managed to snag herself Beyonce's robot hand.

Not present to accept their awards were Rick Astley for Best Act Ever and Britney Spears for Best Act of 2008 and Album of the Year.
