It looked like an ambitious dance number when we first saw Jennifer Lopez rehearsing for her performance at the American Music Awards and last night, it proved to be too much for the pop star diva, who landed on her well-cushioned rear end after two male dancers lifted La Lopez up in an impressive high-jump.

The boxing-themed moves had J.Lo stepping into the ring with a gang of shirtless male dancers busting moves to Jennifer's new, snooze-inducing single, "Louboutins."

To her credit, Lopez quickly righted herself and continued with a quick dance solo without so much as missing a beat. But then again, that's what she gets for walking all over people.

However Taylor Swift was not there, but she's apparently incredibly popular. She beat out Michael Jackson to win Entertainer of the Year and took home a total of five American Music Awards.

The highlight of the night for me was Whitney Houston's performance of "I Didn't Know My Own Strength." While the rasp was present throughout the performance, the girl knows how to command a stage. She belted out the performance until she was almost out of breath. It was a powerful moment.



Michel Jackson ended up with four awards. Other multiple winners included hip-hop acts Jay-Z and the Black Eyed Peas, with two each.

The Black Eyed Peas were named favorite group in both the pop/rock and soul/R&B categories. Jay-Z won favorite male artist and favorite album in the rap/hip-hop categories.

Punk rock trio Green Day was named favorite alternative artist. Rascal Flatts won favorite country group for the fourth year in a row.

Pop star triathlete, Jennifer Lopez, is perfecting her dance moves for the upcoming American Music Awards at the Nokia Theater L.A. Live. From the look of her contortions and high-jumps, La Lopez is preparing to give the audience a hell of a performance.

While she might be electrifying the crowd with her sweet moves, her recently leaked single "Louboutins" is less-than-impressive, in this blogger's opinion. Her ode to fashionable footwear was reportedly originally intended for Brandy, but ended up on J.Lo's new album.

Maybe she can dance her way out of this boring little ditty.

Janet Jackson will open the 37th annual AMA's this year, a year which might have been Michael's big comeback year.

Michael Jackson will receive five posthumous American Music Award nominations, so it only seems fitting that a Jackson should open up the ceremonies.  She's the obvious choice since, let's face it, Janet is the Jackson with the highest potential to hold it together and not weird-out in this highly prestigious setting.

AMA producer Larry Klein expressed he is, "thrilled about having Janet Jackson open this year's show," which is rumored to include, "an eight minute medley of songs," which will surely honor big brother, Michael as a tribute.   Career-wise the timing could not be better as Ms. Jackson is set to release a two-disc singles collections titled Number Ones as well as a new album, "slated to be released in 2010."

Now thin-again Janet has 9 AMA awards under her belt and has performed at the Awards on three other occasions.

To represent the full spectra of artist personalities, 21 AMA Award recipient Whitney Houston will also be performing, and will receive the "International Artist Award."  Shakira, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Clarkson, Jay-Z, Carrie Underwood, and Green Day are also set to perform.

Wow, now this is the first marriage that won't die. Jennifer Lopez's first husband, Ojani Noa, has had a temporary restraining order slapped on him by the pop star actress.

The singer took this legal step in order to keep Ojai from distributing eleven hours of home video footage which he was planning to use in his movie about their 11-month marriage, The J.Lo and Ojani Noa Story.

This footage includes their 1997 honeymoon and reportedly features a scantily dressed Lopez being spanked by her then-husband. Back in 2007, J.Lo successfully stopped Noa's attempt to publish a tell-all book about their relationship, but he remains confident. Noa tells the New York Post, "I'm going to fight this."

She just better hope he doesn't combine his efforts with Michael Lohan, the King of Irreparably Destroying Relationships.

It was a windy day at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, but if you were a celebrity, or had a really good publicist, this is where you were at last night. The premiere of Michael Jackson's This Is It was where all of Hollywood was.

Director Kenny Ortega said the film's goal was to "tell a story for the fans."

Creating the film "was powerful. There was laughter, there were tears," Ortega said. "This is not the journey that we thought we'd be on, but we had to do this for the fans. This has been very healing."

Michael's brothers -- Marlon, Randy, Jermaine, Tito and Jackie -- walked the red carpet to support the film, which they said they had not yet seen.

"This is what Michael would like to share, his work. He'd be most proud," Jermaine said. "I want the film to show that with hard work and dedication you can achieve anything."

Is it news to anyone that Jennifer Lopez is a grade-A biatch behind closed doors? I didn't think so, but J.Lo is on a mission to keep her notorious diva behavior under wraps. Attorneys for the singer have sent Ojani Noa, husband #1, a cease and desist letter in an attempt to shut down production of his movie "How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The J-Lo and Ojani Noa Story." The "mockumentary" archives Noa's life story and a Borat/Pam Anderson-like pursuit of Lopez.

in 2007 J.Lo was granted an injunction preventing Noa from writing about Jen's personal life after he tried to write a tell-all book. According to her attorneys the film would violate this injunction which prevents Noa from "licensing, disseminating, distributing...any manuscript or other written materials which contain private or intimate details about Lopez or Noa's relationship with Lopez."

Noa told TheWrap.com, "the whole movie is about me coming to this country and getting my dream shut down by somebody who I though was a good person. I was totally in love with her. I gave my soul to her. It wasn't my fault she shared it with three people. I was angry."

Name the characters Pennifer Jopez and Dojani Foa. Problem solved. I am desperate to get my hands on the tell-all book or this script. I would love to know how the former fly-girl clawed her way to the top, rising from a bushy-eyebrowed, horrific sideburned chubbster to the A-list actress we know today. I bet there are skeletons up the wazoo in her closet.

Paying their dutiful visit to the Miami Dolphins game yesterday, Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez added glam to the game. Marc had some unfortunate pit stains due to the heat, while Jennifer showed off her curves in a black sundress and platform heels, it was Marc garnering the most attention with his damp shirt.

Due to the heat, Jennifer's face was also glistening with sweat, but it looked more like a flattering healthy glow.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Allen, who performed at the tailgate party, also attended the game. Kim posted a photo of herself with Jennifer at the game on Twitter. It's to bad they didn't get a rear view photo of the two them, that would have been priceless.

When Marc Anthony bought stake in the Miami Dolphins football franchise you knew that the profile of the team was going to benefit from Marc and his wife Jennifer Lopez's star power.

Along with Marc and Jennifer, Naomi Campbell, Gloria Estefan, singer Luis Fonsi and many other Latino celebrities helped cheer the Dolphins to a victory over the Jets 31-27.

Jennifer Lopez wore white pants and top, and husband Marc Anthony wore a black pin-striped suit and sunglasses, which he kept on as he sang the national anthem.

For those of you new moms hoping to recapture that pregnancy "glow," Jennifer Lopez is hoping that her new fragrance, My Glow, will do just that. The pop star's latest perfume is set to go on sale on HSN on October 7.

Lopez says of her inspiration for this latest venture, "There is a special glow that women get when they're pregnant and when they are falling in love with their babies. I wanted My Glow to be for all women to be able to connect with this intimacy and love."



Meanwhile, is that baby really pulling on Jennifer's earring, undoubtedly worth many thousands of dollars? You can rest assured, that kid will never work in this town again.
