Celebrities Celebrate 2009 Emmy Awards In Style

Representing for the Twilight contingent, Kellan Lutz showed up at the Chateau Marmont post-Emmy party in a slick black suit, complete with a skinny tie and a new dark do.

Also hitting up the Chateau Marmont is young Hayden Panettiere, whose long-lasting bright red lipstick managed to remain intact throughout the course of the evening. Impressive.

HBO hosted its Primetime Emmy Party at the Pacific Design Center, where Grey Gardens star, Jessica Lange, proudly accessorized her green gown with the trophy she won earlier in the evening. At the same event, young 90210 star, AnnaLynne McCord showed of her legs (and almost much, much more) in a confounding, short black dress and bright pink heels.

At Vibiana, Entertainment Weekly and People magazine held their awards show after-party at Vibiana, where Emmy winners, Jon Cryer, Jerry Bruckheimer and Toni Collette happily posed for photographers while proudly clutching their brand new statuettes.

2009 Emmy Award Winners: '30 Rock' & 'Mad Men' Recognized

Mad Men and 30 Rock were triumphant Emmy winners, with the shows winning the Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Comedy Series categories, respectively.

In addition, Alec Baldwin snagged the prize of Outstanding Lead Actor for his role on the NBC comedy. Both shows also won for the Outstanding Writing categories for both Drama and Comedy.

Toni Collette won Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her starring role in the Showtime series, United States of Tara. Also in the comedy category, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart won big as the Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy series, as well as the Writing category therein.

Bubbly Kristin Chenoweth gushed on stage that she'd love a job on Mad Men, as she accepted her prize for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in the now-canceled, Pushing Daisies. Jon Cryer, who plays Alan Harper in Two and a Half Men, won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

On the dramatic end of things, Glenn Close took the Lead Actress trophy for playing Patty Hewes in Damages and Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad from AMC acted as her male counterpart for the same award.

The Outstanding Made for TV Movie went to Grey Gardens, and both actors Jessica Lange and Ken Howard were recognized for their roles in the HBO picture.

2009 Emmy Awards Red Carpet: Ladies

Padma Lakshmi is a reality television siren in a flirty, figure-hugging purple dress accented with what I'm going to refer to as a red garnish on her hips. Stunning Ugly Betty star, Vanessa Williams, also opted for a brightly-colored ensemble and was gorgeous in turquoise.

House star, Olivia Wilde, is a vision in a sheer, white lace gown that flaunts her trim figure. Just as radiant is her co-star, Lisa Edelstein, whose midnight-blue and white frock really brings out her eyes.

It's hard to tell whether or not Alyson Hannigan's strapless, A-line number is a dark, dark blue, or black. One thing is for sure--it's very flattering in the many layers, much like her hairstyle.

Looking angelic, with long, blond hair, Saving Grace star, Holly Hunter looks fabulous. Her critically-acclaimed series is one that sadly won't be returning to TV for another season. Hmm, this seems to be a theme these days...

2009 Emmy Nominations Are In!

30 Rock leads the pack for this year's Emmy nominations with a staggering 22 to its credit. However, Family Guy managed to find itself in the unique situation of being the first animated series since The Flinstones in 1961 to be nominated for outstanding comedy series.

The category also includes Entourage, Flight of the Conchords, Weeds, The Office and How I Met Your Mother. As for outstanding dramatic series, Breaking Bad, Dexter, House, Mad Men, Lost and Damages were all recognized with nominations. In fact, Mad Men snagged an impressive 16 nods, the most of any drama this year.

In addition, a new category has been added into the mix with the comedy, musical and variety series genre including The Colbert Report, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Late Show with David Letterman, Real Time with Bill Maher and Saturday Night Live.

Grey Gardens
, the HBO film starring Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange, earned 17 nominations with the Winston Churchill WWII flick Into the Storm picked up 14.

And Neil Patrick Harris will be playing host for the evening's festivities, which kick off Sunday, September 20 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on CBS. Click on the "continue reading" link for a full list of nominees.

Dolly Parton Is Fabulous At The 2009 Tony Awards

Sassy country music icon Dolly Parton showed off her trademark big smile, hair and nails at the 63rd Annual Tony Awards held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Dolly complemented her porcelain skin with an array of pastel-colored outfits.

Broadway legend Liza Minelli was on the other end of the spectrum in one of her trademark black outfits, setting of her jet-black hair and bright red lipstick. Any time this woman is written about, she deserves an exclamation point!

Marcia Gay Harden was a vision in a bright-green strapless gown while Bebe Neuwirth made like Liza in a black dress, fire engine red lipstick and pale skin. Funnyman Will Ferrell was tall and elegant in his simple suit and white tie--no joke.

Will 'Grey Gardens' Live Up To The Original?

I've yet to read any reviews of the HBO film based on the original 70s documentary, but I will be curious to hear if Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange manage to deliver performances that ring authentic in this new Grey Gardens.

The work aside, however, I am enjoying seeing Drew on the red carpet in retro outfits from varying time periods. And also this has served as a very convenient test to figure out just what the status of her relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Long is. I'm also enjoying this dress Jessica's wearing here.

Drew Barrymore & Justin Long Are Just 'Good Friends'

Grey Gardens star Drew Barrymore told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show that although she and ex-boyfriend Justin Long have been looking extremely friendly, that's all it is.

Barrymore explains, "I guess people find it a little confusing. I totally understand. It seems like, 'What is the deal with them?' But we just adore each other. We're in each other's lives, and we're friends, and we're working together, and we have worked together."

Drew, we'd think you were telling the truth except that your hair is getting bigger before our very eyes. It's all very Pinocchio.

Drew Barrymore Goes Retro At 'Grey Gardens' Premiere

Drew Barrymore went for the flapper inspired look (not so sure about the veil) on the black carpet at the premiere or her HBO film Grey Gardens. She was joined at the premiere by her co-stars Jessica Lange and Jeanne Tripplehorn.

The film is based on the life stories of the eccentric aunt and first cousin of Jackie Onassis (both named Edith Bouvier Beale aka "Big and Little Edie") raised as Park Avenue débutantes but who withdrew from New York society, taking shelter at their Long Island summer home, Grey Gardens. As their wealth and contact with the outside world dwindled, so did their grasp on reality.

Barrymore was nervous about playing Little Edie. "I can't tell you the level of fear and sickness I would feel when they [her gay friends] would imitate her," she said. "They know her and love her so well -- what if I do something that doesn't feel right with them?"

I have a feeling that Drew Barrymore isn't going to let us down.

HBO's 'Grey Gardens' Trailer Revealed, Jessica Lange Falls

I'm proud to say that in a crazy relative competition, I'm usually able to throw more than a few impressive anecdotes on the table. Of course, all it takes is a viewing of Grey Gardens, the documentary film telling the tale of Jackie O's reclusive Little Edie and Big Edie for me to realize I'm way out of my league.

And new life has been breathed into this real-life story with Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange taking on the roles of the eccentric mother and daughter duo, with the film set to air on HBO.

Meanwhile, on another note completely, Lange was recently injured after falling down in her home in Minnesota. Her rep claims the actress is expecting to be released from the hospital shortly and told People: "She bruised her ribs, broke her collarbone and received a small cut on her forehead."

Montblanc Wants To Write Off Illiteracy

These celebrities have gathered together at Paramount Studios to help raise money for UNICEF's fight against illiteracy. And I love that Paris Hilton, who assuredly cannot read, was there and dressed like a serious-looking cupcake. Timeless diva Joan Collins should have just slapped the illiteracy out of Hilton's empty head. Problem solved!

Why was Kathy Hilton wearing a flimsy-looking lampshade? I swear, everyone else in that family likes to wear as little fabric as possible and this one looks she's wrapped herself with at least one bolt.

Dita Von Teese looked gorgeous in her gown that seemed to blend into the red carpet under foot. But then again, when doesn't she look amazing? If she weren't wearing her perfectly-drawn eyebrows and lipstick, I probably wouldn't even know who I was looking at.
