As you've heard by now Ashlee Simpson was given the axe by execs at Melrose Place but rebounded quickly with a gig reprising the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago, but this time on Broadway. The starlet previously played the part in the West End back in 2006.

If you recall Jessica Simpson twittered Melrose Place was "crap" upon Ashlee getting kicked to the curb, a comment I don't totally disagree with, though her motivation is suspect. This time around Jessica is twittering support for her younger sister and Ashlee's new role writing, "I can't wait to watch @ashsimpsonwentz on broadway in all her glory!!! I get chillbumps from toes to noggin thinking about it!! YAY!!!!"

It seems that all is going well on stage. Ashlee twittered "just finished second CHICAGO rehearsal. Man I love the theater and putting my dancing shoes back on!!"

On a side note- can anyone tell me what happened to Heather Locklear's face? I, of course, tuned into her much anticipated return to Melrose Place and was frightened. Why is no one talking about the botox and lip injections gone wrong?!

Beautiful baby boy of Melrose Place starlet Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz, Bronx, turned 1 year old on Friday.

The day was overflowing with love as Bronx's aunt Jessica Simpson took to Twitter to wish him a very special birthday writing, "Bronx is 1 today!! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!! I can't believe it has been a year already."

Mom and Dad got in on the Twitter well wishes too. Ashlee wrote, "BX's 1st bday tomorrow! My angel is going to be a year!! The greatest year of my life." Poppa Wentz joked, "Happy birthday bx. You don't have twitter and can't read this. Thanks to all my friends that recorded lullabies. Can't believe its been a year."

I love this family! They are too too cute and I can't help but want to pinch Bronx's chubby cheeks all day long!

A snitch tells the National Enquirer that Ashlee Simpson is so upset over being let go from the CW series, Melrose Place, that she is "teetering on the edge of an emotional breakdown."

The 25-year-old is reportedly so thin because she's living on energy drinks and nuts. And as a result of her sudden unemployment, she is "devastated." An insider claims, "Ashlee didn't see it coming, and now she's crushed. She invested her heart and soul into the job. She feels like the rug has been pulled out from under her."

While the official reason for Ashlee leaving is being cited as the producers simply wanting to go in a different direction, a source tells Us Weekly, "She's the worst actress, but nobody will tell her." Another claims that Ashlee was brought on in order to get press for the CW series, but "she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible."

At least Ashlee still has one staunch fan in her sister, Jessica Simpson. On her Twitter page on Sunday, Jess writes, "CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap?i have had bad scripts to work with,but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press."

That's very sweet of Jessica--especially considering her sister likes to taunt her with her baby.

During her stay in India, Jessica Simpson liked her newly-acquired henna tattoos on her hands so much that she's still wearing the intricate designs after her arrival back to Los Angeles. But then again, it's not like she can just rub them off.

The Mehndi designs are usually applied with turmeric paste and are typically Indian, according to a rep for the pop star, who adds, "It's a big style statement too. The really intricate designs take hours to apply by hand using just a brush. The artists are very skilled."

Additionally, the spokesperson explains, "They're worn at wedding ceremonies and are supposed to bring good luck to eligible single women in India."

I'm going to go on a limb here and predict we start seeing more of these tattoos on then hands of "single eligible women" in Hollywood. Some of them seem as if they can use all the good luck they can get.

As part of her journey around the world for her reality TV series, The Price of Beauty, Jessica Simpson has done her best to embrace Indian culture since arriving in Mumbai over the weekend.

Bollywood star, Neha Dhupia, has been acting as host to the pop singer during Simpson's stay in the country. At a party last night at the Vie Lounge in Mumbai, last night, Jessica dressed up with a bindi dot on her forehead and her hands decorated with henna tattoos.

Well, she certainly seems to be having a better time than when she was being eaten alive by mosquitoes in Africa.

FOX might be giving Jessica Simpson crap for her weight gain, but some men find her buxom curves quite alluring--men like 300 star, Gerard Butler.

The Scottish actor was spotted out on a date with Simpson, who brought some friends to act as a buffer, one of whom was Jessica's longtime pal and stylist, Ken Paves.

A snitch tells Page Six, "They were at a table with friends, but Jessica and Gerard, who sat next to each other, seemed to only be interested in each other and chatted for hours." The source added, "They were laughing and flirting and eventually left together, along with Ken."

While I can't really see the connection between the two, Jessica sure could use some happy news right about now. And Gerard does look like he knows how to make a girl happy.

Burger King is calling someone fat and FOX is apologizing.  Are pigs flying somewhere?

FOX aired a Burger King sponsored animated clip during their Sunday NFL show, which featured a rounder version of Jessica Simpson.  The fat rendering of Jessica isn't even the meanest part...  

The cartoon also portrays Dallas Cowboy Marion Barber exclaiming, "Man, I still can't believe Tony [Romo] dated Jessica Simpson, even AFTER she blew up bigger than Flozell Adams!"  Ouch!  Other offensive remarks come from colorful characters, Jason Witten (Tight End) and Wade Phillips (Cowboys coach), who joke, "Unlike Tony, at least Jessica comes up big when it counts," and, "Say Tony, is Jessica around? We could use a defensive tackle," respectively.  That last one made me cringe.

Burger King and FOX have apologized for the mockery, and FOX has let Burger King off the line in a statement: "Burger King did not have any editorial input in the creation of the animation that ran last Sunday, and no one from Burger King Corp. approved it before it aired. Upon reflection, our poor attempt at humor was insensitive and we deeply apologize to anyone who might have been offended.''

Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson were both unavailable for comment. 

I find the whole thing shocking.  I mean, the last thing you'd think Burger King would want to do is offend fat people, right?

Here's Jessica Simpson, doing her best to smile on the red carpet, when we all know the poor thing is having quite a time in the wake of the disappearance of her Maltipoo, Daisy. While we recognize that there's no way to replace a lost pet, Jessica is doing her best to soldier on.

Simpson tells Us Weekly, "I hold her memory very, very close. It was an unfortunate thing what happened. That I don't have her every day... It's a very hard thing to talk about."

However, Jessica isn't sure she's ready to move on at the moment. The singer adds, "I haven't really thought about another dog yet, but maybe sometime. [Daisy] would want that." A moment of silence for the pooch would be greatly appreciated.

Second in command at 'Sad Lonely Girl' headquarters Jessica Simpson (El Jefe is none other than Jennifer Aniston, duh!) has had a rough couple of months. First Tony Romo breaks her heart, then the tabloids can't stop talking about her weight and fashion sense, and most recently, her beloved pooch Daisy was kidnapped by a hungry coyote. Now it seems a nasty prankster is rubbing salt in the girl's fresh wound. Jessica's family and friends have recieved crank calls informing them Daisy is alive and well. Unfortunately, unless Daisy was some kind of super pooch, she was a coyote's main course weeks ago.

Jessica, understandably upset, tweeted "People who have been contacting my family and friends saying Daisy has been found...Untrue. People are so cruel...please respect her memory."

Let's give this gal a break. If she's pushed too much more we're going to have a Britney inspired meltdown on our hands and I'm willing to bet my first-born she cannot pull off the bald look.
