Style-conscious American Idol runner-up, Adam Lambert, is set to debut his debut album, For Your Entertainment, and is prepping for the event with a stroll on the red carpet for the premiere of 2012. The singer's song, "Time for Miracles," is featured in the soundtrack for the disaster movie.

Lambert chatted with MTV News about his participation with the film, "I really feel honored that they came to me and asked me. I think it's obviously a risk on their part because this was before any sort of album had been completed or hardly even started."

As for other attendees of the event, Thandie Newton and Sofia Vergara looked absolutely stunning in their strapless dresses. Yowzah. John Cusack was in his usual all black ensemble and Woody Harrelson looked dapper in his suit and fedora.

But none shone brighter than President Barack Obama and his first lady, Michelle Obama, decked out in her custom-made outfit. It's full-on Obamarama, folks! Oprah Winfrey, the woman behind the man (let's be honest, here) was smiling a big grin. That one's future is so bright, she better be wearing shades, lest she be blinded. In an interview before the inauguration, Magic Johnson was asked about Obama's quip that he planned on turning the bowling alley in the White House into a baskeball court and wanted the former Laker legend to come by for a game. The interviewer asked Johnson if he'd go easy on the new president to which Magic responded, "I'll go easy on him if he goes easy on my taxes." Ha! Prepare for an elbow to the gut, Barack!

MTV sat down with John Cusack and picked his brain a bit. He talks about why he chose to do a horror film after all of these years, and what it was like to work with Hilary Duff (he likes her - not in a creepy way).

Attention Zack Snyder: After years of playing the characters we all wanted to be -- you know, the guys that were just a bit smarter, just a bit braver, just a bit funnier than the rest of us -- John Cusack wants nothing more for himself than to be, well, wanted. The everyman actor sat down with MTV News to discuss his new horror movie, "1408" (which is based on a Stephen King short story of the same name); what he remembers from "Better Off Dead"; what it's like working with Hilary Duff; and why, more than anything, he wants Snyder to cast him in his upcoming "Watchmen." (And if he does, John, what do we want? Ten percent.)

MTV: ["1408"] isn't what I think of as a typical John Cusack role. ... Why horror? Why now?

John Cusack: Well, sometimes you're lucky, because if there is a good piece of material, it sort of finds you, or the people who are doing it want you to do it and they're smarter than you so they come after you pretty hard. ... The script is pretty great -- I've always loved Stephen King. And I was always a fan of very, very good horror films -- like "The Exorcist," "The Shining," those types of movies. ... This one had a whole psychological component to it that I thought was kind of ballsy to do. Like, can we pull this off? ... It was pretty aggressive and ambitious and out there.

Jeremy Piven sounds kinda....jilted and ladylike.

Entourage star Jeremy Piven insists the reason he had a falling out with John Cusack was because his longtime friend wasn't supportive of his newfound success. Piven played supporting roles in many of Cusack's films, including Say Anything, Grosse Point Blank and Runaway Jury, before getting his big break on the hit US TV series Entourage and winning an Emmy Award. When asked how Cusack has handled Piven's recent successes, he tells America's Best Life magazine, "No comment. I mean, you could fill in the blank, I bet." Piven says of Cusack, "I was always proud of him, and I was always in his corner. Always. It just says so much about a person if he has space for other people's success. "I have always been so proud of my friends' success. I own that proudly because I come by it naturally. I was raised on that spirit of collaboration. "You start getting into trouble in life when you start comparing and contrasting your life to anyone else's."

Jeremy Piven Thinks John Cusack is Jealous [Contact Music]

The adorable John Cusack has a stalker. Not Lloyd Dobler! Who would even think of doing such a thing? Apparently Emily Diane Leatherman (no relation to David Letterman) would. A restraining order was granted which requires Letterman to stay at least 500 feet from Cusack, 40, as well as the actor's home, workplace, car and offices.

"This person is showing unusual interest by stalking, throwing long letters of interest over my fence in bags with rocks and screwdrivers inside (and) making unannounced visits to offices of people I work with in an attempt to meet with me," Cusack said in his restraining order application.

He said Leatherman "threatens to commit acts of violence against herself if I do not help her" and that her mail has been arriving at his home.
