Suze Orman & Kathy Griffin Triumphant At Gracie Awards

When I first saw this photo, my heart stopped at the sight of my two favorite sassy ladies back-to-back. Fashion guru Suze Orman and comedian Kathy Griffin were both big winner's at the 34th Annual AWRT Gracie Awards and showed off their trophies with a pose on the red carpet.

The awards were held last night at the Broadway Ballroom at the New York Marriott Marquis in Manhattan and were presented by American Women in Radio & Television.

It was a veritable who's who of women in broadcasting, with journalism icon Barbara Walters rubbing shoulders with Katie Couric, Rachel Maddow and Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay. The most impressive sign that this was an esteemed event celebrating landmark journalism? I wasn't anywhere in sight.

Wanda Sykes Rocks 2009 White House Correspondents Dinner

The comedian took to the pulpit in front of the crowd of famous faces. Sykes teased President Barack Obama about the numerous shirtless pictures of him in the media, his basketball games and managed to touch upon issues of race and politics with an edge that only Wanda can deliver.

Girlfriend did not pull any punches and I'm not doing them justice here in this blog post. You'll have to watch them for yourselves.

It was an impressive array of celebrities in the audience, but none whose smiles were bigger than the President and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Tim Gunn Helps Red Dresses Speak the Heart Healthy Truth

Actresses, athletes, and well, Katie Couric, joined Tim Gunn in promoting some healthy yet fashionable awareness yesterday at The Annual Hearth Truth Red Dress Runway Show in New York City.

Because, according to Mr. Gunn, "being healthy never goes out of style." And neither do red dresses, apparently.  The Project Runway master could hardly contain his excitement at seeing the likes of Vivica A. Fox and Hilary Duff strut long or - in Amanda Bynes' case - short designs by Vera Wang, Donna Karen, and Carolina Herrera.

Not surprisingly, portraits of health and fashion enthusiasts Victoria Beckham and Lindsay Lohan were not invited to attend.

Also featured in the gallery: Susan Lucci, Amanda Beard, Samantha Harris, Cicely Tyson, Valerie Bertinelli, 90210 pals Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth, Daisy Fuentes, Amanda Bynes, Former "Wonder Woman" Lynda Carter, Jane Kaczmarek, Brittany Snow, Patricia Arquette, Nia Long, Olympic gold medalists Amanda Beard, Kristi Yamaguchi and Nastia Liukin.

Madonna Doesn't Frighten Justin Timberlake

Which is, of course, a huge lie.

When Justin Timberlake was interviewed by Katie Couric for the CBS All Access Grammy Special, he said that was appropriately humbled by the prospect of working with pop diva Madonna just before the two headed into the recording studio together, but wasn't scared.

Madge and Timberlake have been nominated for "Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals" for "4 Minutes." As JT tells it, "[Madonna]'s short, so I wasn't afraid at all."

Quite frankly, that should make you more afraid, good sir. The woman is within biting distance of your genitals. Being scared of her is just good common sense.

Tina Fey Gets Book Deal

Yay! Not only is Liz Lemon returning to television, but now 30 Rock creator and star Tina Fey has just signed a book deal with Little, Brown Book Group. It's no surprise that the project was pitched as more of a comedic tome rather than a memoir per se, with Fey garnering laughs for her portrayal of Republican vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin.

In case you missed any of those, you can check them out here:

I'll be curious to see what Tina comes up with. But I'm a little nervous, since she is going to be entering some very esteemed company--rubbing elbows with the fanciest of authors.

News Bites: Howard Stern Got Married

Radio funnygargoyle Howard Stern was married last night to model Beth Ostrosky at a star-studded bash at Le Cirque restaurant. Guests included Kelly Ripa, Billy Joel, Barbara Walters, Chevy Chase, John Stamos, Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, Joan Rivers, and Donald and Melania Trump. Kelly Ripa's husband Mark Consuelos, who became an ordained minister over the summer, performed the ceremony. Chevy Chase, a former enemy of Stern's show, reportedly gave an x-rated toast. This is Howard's second marriage.

Dancing with the Stars winner Helio Castroneves pled not guilty in court on Friday to charges of tax fraud. Castroneves reportedly sobbed through the hearing. Oh dear. He was relieved of his passport, and his bond was set at $10 million. He better enter some more dance contests. He is facing trial alongside his sister and his lawyer, who were reportedly also involved in his tax evasion scheme.

Vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin told Fox News that she was "annoyed" during her disastrous Katie Couric interview. "The Sarah Palin in those interviews was a little bit annoyed," Palin said. "It's like, man, no matter what you say, you are going to get clobbered. If you choose to answer a question, you are going to get clobbered on the answer. If you choose to try to pivot and go to another subject that you believe that Americans want to hear about, you get clobbered for that too." YOU'RE A VICE-PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE! People are going to ask you difficult questions! You're not running for the f*cking PTA board!

Tina Fey Mock's Sarah Palin's Katie Curic Interview on SNL

Tina Fey reprised her role as Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live, again appearing as the Republican vice presidential candidate in an opening sketch.

Amy Poehler played CBS's Katie Couric, parodying the interview with Palin earlier this week. Poehler, though, mostly played straight man to Fey, who ratcheted up her performance of Sen. John McCain's running mate by satirizing her foreign affairs experience.

When Poehler's Couric pushed Fey's Palin to specifically discuss how she would help facilitate democracy abroad, Fey gave in: "Katie, I'd like to use one of my lifelines. ... I want to phone a friend."

When a confused Poehler informed her that that wasn't how the interview worked, Fey's Palin responded -- alluding to one of the governor's most quoted lines from the interview -- "Well, in that case, I'm just gonna have to get back to ya."
