Here's something fun, singer Katy Perry has withdrawn from a trademark case with Australian fashion designer, Katie Perry. Katie, who designs Kiribilli, tells Australian news outlets that she "ecstatic" that Katy withdrew from the case, just an hour before it was due to be heard in a court. "I went to sleep last night worrying about this case and whether I was going to lose my business and now all that has changed," Katie said.
Katie got some intense media attention when Katy's lawyers asked her to withdraw her trademark application to use her name for her label. Could you imagine buying something from Katie Perry and thinking it was Katy Perry?
Katie claims to have never heard of Katy Perry, and was not trying to use the name cash in on Katy's fame. "I hadn't even heard of her," Katie told reporters. Katie Perry thinks that her YouTube video to Katy asking for a friendly solution helped end the battle.
"Physically and mentally it's taken a huge toll. I've learnt a lot of lessons through this - mostly to stick to my guns," Katie said. "I still have to work tonight but I think I'll find time for a glass of champagne as well."
Well, I'm glad everything seems to have worked out. It's probably cause Katy kissed Katie and ended up liking it. Or while eating some pizza in her own special way, she decided to withdraw.
