Erstwhile beauty queen, Carrie Prejean, was looking for the opportunity to sell her book, reciting nearly verbatim the same speech from her Today show appearance about what she claims is the double standard faced by conservative women in the liberal media on Larry King Live when the host threw a wrench into her rehearsed performance.

After Prejean gave her spiel, Larry King asked the former Miss California USA why she had dropped her claims of religious discrimination, libel and slander against the Pageant. Larry insisted, "Why settle since you had a fight to carry on?"

Carrie refused to discuss any details of the settlement and when King continued pressing, she said, "Larry you're being inappropriate. You really are." The two continued to banter, with Carrie appearing to threaten to leave the interview after removing her microphone. Yeah, she's really not interested in chatting about that sex tape of hers, in case you didn't notice.

After the interview, Anderson Cooper chatted about the incident on his show with another CNN correspondent, who explained that Prejean claims she was preparing to exit the interview early because she was told she wouldn't have to take questions from callers. To this, Anderson summed the entire episode perfectly by saying, "Bizarre." (Watch that clip after the jump.)



Well, at least Larry wasn't being "glib," I guess.

These days, things seem to be going well for Mariah Carey. She's happily married to her young hubby, starring in a critically-acclaimed movie and quite possibly keeping a pregnancy under wraps. The singer denies that she's expecting, but claims she's too busy to try and get pregnant right now.

Carey tells Larry King in an interview that as much as she would be happy to have a baby, she's too focused on her career at the moment and "cannot do the having-a-child thing halfway." The singer adds, "I wouldn't be just like, 'Oh, I'm having a child, Yay! Let me get a nanny so I can give her the baby. Take the kid.' That doesn't work for me."

However, her personal relationships weren't always so rosy. 40-year-old Carey admits that when she heard news of Chris Brown's assault on Rihanna, she was reminded of a past relationship of her own, in which she says she was sequestered. Mimi explains, "I wasn't really allowed out of the house, so I can't imagine what she went through."

Carey explains, "Emotionally, mentally, in other ways ... It's scary. You know, I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in."

But not anymore! She's free! And I think I know why the caged butterfly sings.

Releasing a statement to People, Chris Brown clarifies what he's calling incorrect reports regarding the video clip being shown from his interview with Larry King Live.

"There have been reports on the Internet that I didn't remember what happened that night with Rihanna. I want to try and set things straight.

"That 30 seconds of the interview they used of me was taken from a one hour interview during which that same question was asked something like four or five times - and when you look at the entire interview you will see it is not representative of what I said.

"The first four times - or however many times it was - I gave the same answer - which was that I didn't think it was appropriate for me to talk about what happened that night. I said it was not right for me and it really wasn't fair to Rihanna. The fifth time - or whatever it was - I just misspoke. I was asked, 'Do you remember doing it?' and I said, 'No.'

"Of course I remember what happened. Several times during the interview, my mother said that I came to her right afterwards and told her everything. But it was and still is a blur. And yes, I still can't believe it happened because it is not me or who I am, nor is what happened like anything I have ever done before.

"As I have said several times previously, I am ashamed of and sorry for what happened that night and I wish I could relive that moment and change things, but I can't. I take full responsibility for my actions. What I have to do now is to prove to the world that this was an isolated incident and that is not who I am, and I intend to do so by my behavior now and in the future."

This whole isolated incident claim is what still bothers me, when there were previous incidents according to a probation officer. Everything about this who situation is a little suspect.

For the first time, Chris Brown sat down and chatted with Larry King in detail about his attack on Rihanna. With his mother, Joyce Hawkins, by his side, Brown tells Larry of his initial reaction to seeing the media coverage of the incident in this interview on the talk show host's television program.

"I just look at it like...wow, I'm in shock because first of all, that's not who I am as a person and that's not who I pride myself on being," Chris says.

Brown also claims that he doesn't even remember the event taking place. Let's hope Rihanna doesn't catch his amnesia. More snippets from the interview will undoubtedly start turning up.

Operation repair image is amping up. Chris Brown has taped an interview for Larry King Live that is set to be aired on September 2, 2009. He was joined by his mother, Joyce Hawkins, and his attorney, Mark Geragos for the interview.

He sat down with Larry King yesterday at CNN's Hollywood headquarters for his first sit down interview since he was arrested back in February for the assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

According to E! Online, it was a no-holds-barred chat during which Brown answered every question put to him, according to our source. We assume some of King's inquiries pertained to the 20-year-old's probation report, which indicated he got rough with Rihanna more than once over the course of their stormy relationship.

Meanwhile, Chris has released a song called "Changed Man." In the song he sings "I remember your touch," (and yeah, she remembers your fist) which the words may be targeted at Rihanna, this doesn't mean much to many who are questioning whether the singer is actually a "changed man." The mother of eight reveals to Larry King in a lengthy interview that although she is "lonely," denies that she has any time to date. This, despite rumors that Kate is getting cozy with her bodyguard, Steve Neild, who is seen here escorting her to CNN in Hollywood for her interview.

Kate claims that although her children are not currently receiving counseling, she is open to the idea and thinks they're handling the divorce well.

When it came to talking about John, Kate says that although she doesn't agree with "his decisions right now," she does believe he is ultimately a good father. While he has expressed a desire to end his participation on their TLC reality series, Jon & Kate Plus Eight, Kate remains happy to stay on TV.

Kate tells Larry, "Personally, for myself and the kids, this has been a good experience. It continues to be a good experience." And her career in front of the camera continues to expand with an upcoming guest-hosting stint on The View, to sub for Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who is out on maternity leave.

While chatting with Larry King, the always enterprising Joe Jackson flatly denied any claims made by his late son, Michael Jackson, that he abused his children. Joe played dumb when quizzed on whether or not his children accused him of hitting them. Apparently, he's never read Michael's autobiography, Moonwalk, in which the King of Pop said of Joe, "He would beat you...he would hit me so hard."

"I didn't make no mistakes, Larry...Michael was raised properly," Joe told the talk show host on CNN. "I've never been abusive to him. I never have," Joe responded when asked if he had and then claimed that it was simply "the media" who had fabricated these stories.

The best redirection, though, comes when Joe somehow tries to connect the "rumors" of family violence to slavery. "You know where this 'beating' started? Beating started in the slavery days and they used to beat the slaves and they used to torture them. That's where this 'beating' started..."

Who could possibly hope to argue against him when he's using razor-sharp logic like that? It's not Joe who used to beat Michael Jackson, it was the ghosts of white plantation owners. I bet they're also the ones stealing socks from my clean laundry.

It is a sad, sad day. The Jonas Brothers have finally confirmed what we already knew: they have girlfriends. Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas were on Larry King last night and Larry hit them with the hard question, "Do you have a girlfriend?" Joe responded that he did indeed have a girlfriend, although his girlfriends is not as famous as Nick's girlfriend Miley Cyrus. Kevin then said that he has been with his girlfriend for a while and that "she's an amazing girl."



This is obviously very upsetting news for all Jonas Brothers fans. I mean, we all knew that they had girlfriends, but to hear them confirm it opens up like fresh wounds or something.

The interview and girlfriend revelation comes just two days after the debut of the Jonas Brother's latest studio release "Lines, Vines and Trying Times." Industry analysts are already betting that the JoBro's album will sell about 275,000 to 300,000 in its first week, which could have it debuting on the Billboard 200 chart next week.

But really, the Jonas Brothers admitted to girlfriends so obviously these must be some pretty serious relationships.

Joe with Camilla Belle, Nick with Miley Cyrus, and Kevin with Danielle Deleasa. I guess the only cure for this pain is to go and buy their newest CD. In fact, all of you should go and buy their newest CD. It will no doubt be the best investment you'll make all summer.

After reaching one million followers on his Twitter account, Ashton Kutcher gushed to Larry King on his talk show about how awesome he is.

"I think that's what makes it incredible, because as you send out whatever information--media, news--that you feel is relevant, then people send you how they feel about that or responses to that," Kutcher confessed on Larry King Live.

The multi-million-dollar actor added, "It's really about everyday people having a voice." Good Lord. He won a popularity contest and now he thinks he's some kind of Internet messiah. You don't see me walking around, pretending like my BS blog is culturally relevant or something.
