'Amelia': Love Fest For Hilary Swank, Richard Gere & Ewan McGregor




Director of Amelia, Mira Nair, wasn't the only one excited to work with Academy Award-winning actress, Hilary Swank. Swank's co-star in the film, Ewan McGregor, tells MTV News, "She's an extraordinary actress, so I wanted to work with her, really. We'd been hoping that a script would come along, and this one cropped up while I was working in another film."

Swank too was excited about the project, inspired by Amelia Earhart's iconic life. "She certainly was ahead of her time, but even if she were living today, it's a great lesson in how to live your life and certainly a reminder to me."

Richard Gere also had something to say on the matter, telling press at the NY premiere for the film, "She wasn't the best flyer. She was kind of quirky-looking, but she had a mind, she had a heart. She had a writer's soul."

2009 Emmy Awards Red Carpet: Ladies




Padma Lakshmi is a reality television siren in a flirty, figure-hugging purple dress accented with what I'm going to refer to as a red garnish on her hips. Stunning Ugly Betty star, Vanessa Williams, also opted for a brightly-colored ensemble and was gorgeous in turquoise.

House star, Olivia Wilde, is a vision in a sheer, white lace gown that flaunts her trim figure. Just as radiant is her co-star, Lisa Edelstein, whose midnight-blue and white frock really brings out her eyes.

It's hard to tell whether or not Alyson Hannigan's strapless, A-line number is a dark, dark blue, or black. One thing is for sure--it's very flattering in the many layers, much like her hairstyle.

Looking angelic, with long, blond hair, Saving Grace star, Holly Hunter looks fabulous. Her critically-acclaimed series is one that sadly won't be returning to TV for another season. Hmm, this seems to be a theme these days...

Tina Fey & Mariska Hargitay: Ebony & Ivory At 2009 Emmy Awards



Sometimes, deciding what to wear on the red carpet can be quite black and white, as NBC stars, Tina Fey and Mariska Hargitay have demonstrated at the 2009 Emmy Awards. Both actresses are up for awards, with Mariska up for Best Actress in a Lead Drama for her role on Law & Order: SVU and Tina's award-winning series, 30 Rock, is once again up for Best Comedy.

Sisters and reality TV stars, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, have also opted for contrasting gowns while Heidi Klum and Seal are matching in black ensembles. Similarly, estranged couple, Thomas Jane and Patricia Arquette appear surprisingly affectionate on the red carpet. Good for them!

Chandra Wilson, Glenn Close and Jenna Fischer each opted for the classic black dress, while on the opposite end of the spectrum, Chloe Sevigny, Leighton Meester and Kara DioGuardi prove that white isn't just for brides.

Bruce Willis & Emma Heming Cozy Up At Spring 2010 Fashion Week



While his ex-wife, Demi Moore is in town to promote her young hubby's new TV show, Bruce Willis and his new spouse, Emma Heming, are spending their time in the Big Apple taking in the Mercedes-Benz Spring 2010 Fashion Week. The happy couple sat in the front row of the Erin Wasson x RVCA show.

At the Cristian Siriano Spring 2010 Fashion Show, Tori Spelling and Veronica Webb were getting chummy in the front row. Tori's hubby Dean McDermott was conspicuously absent from her side, instead, Veronica was there to keep Tori company and take photos of the models as they strutted by on the catwalk.

The Around Bryant Park event attracted a host of celebs as well, with Hilary Duff, Amanda Bynes, Rachel Zoe and Heather Graham showing off their long wavy locks as they mixed and mingled. Oh yes, Lance Bass was there as well.

Wentworth Miller & Christopher Meloni On 'Law & Order: SVU'




Drool-worthy star of Prison Break, Wentworth Miller takes a stroll on the other side of the law for an episode of Law & Order: SVU. Dressed in the uniform of a leather jacket and jeans, Wentworth was all business with a badge signifying his police status.

But on the side, Miller was all smiles and cuteness while chatting with his costars. Mariska Hargitay played with her son August Miklos, while Christopher Meloni handed out tickets to the gun show.

Holy shit! Stabler's got a license to use those suckers, and he's not afraid to show 'em off. Bang, bang indeed, Officer.

Suze Orman & Kathy Griffin Triumphant At Gracie Awards




When I first saw this photo, my heart stopped at the sight of my two favorite sassy ladies back-to-back. Fashion guru Suze Orman and comedian Kathy Griffin were both big winner's at the 34th Annual AWRT Gracie Awards and showed off their trophies with a pose on the red carpet.

The awards were held last night at the Broadway Ballroom at the New York Marriott Marquis in Manhattan and were presented by American Women in Radio & Television.

It was a veritable who's who of women in broadcasting, with journalism icon Barbara Walters rubbing shoulders with Katie Couric, Rachel Maddow and Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay. The most impressive sign that this was an esteemed event celebrating landmark journalism? I wasn't anywhere in sight.

Mariska Hargitay's Healthy At American Ballet Theater Spring Gala




We were a little concerned to see Mariska Hargitay in and out of the hospital a few months ago due to a partially collapsed lung. So it's nice to see the Law & Order: SVU actress out and about at the 69th Annual American Ballet Theatre Spring Gala at The Metropolitan Opera House.

Hargitay told People magazine of her ailments, "I fell wrong, basically. I collapsed my lung doing a stunt." Yikes. Well, she seems to be in better health these days and certainly looks great, in her black and white frock.

Everybody was looking quite flawless at the event with Eva La Rue looking stunning in an angelic gown with a plunging neckline. Anna Wintour was tiny, stylish and with small fur jacket to keep her bony shoulders warm. Pouring her extremely tan body into a strapless midnight blue dress, Kelly Ripa accessorized her outfit with her adorable husband Marc Consuelos on her arm.

Wanda Sykes Rocks 2009 White House Correspondents Dinner




The comedian took to the pulpit in front of the crowd of famous faces. Sykes teased President Barack Obama about the numerous shirtless pictures of him in the media, his basketball games and managed to touch upon issues of race and politics with an edge that only Wanda can deliver.

Girlfriend did not pull any punches and I'm not doing them justice here in this blog post. You'll have to watch them for yourselves.

It was an impressive array of celebrities in the audience, but none whose smiles were bigger than the President and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Mariska Hargitay & Christopher Meloni Leaving SVU?




Contract negotiations for stars of Law & Order: SVU Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni are reportedly getting so heated that NBC is threatening to replace the two.

Michael Aussielo reports that although multiple sources have confirmed the story, insiders claim they won't make good on the threat. "It's a horrible time to retool a show. They already have to change the time-slot, because it's not going to be airing at 10 pm next season," a rival network exec theorized.

As for Law & Order big boss man Dick Wolf, all he had to say through his rep, "It is my fondest hope that both Chris and Mariska will be back next season."
