Spice Girls Musical In The Works

What producers want, what they what they really, really want is to find five girls to portray Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Victoria Beckham and Melanie Chisholm on stage in a musical production about the British pop group.

Backers of what is being billed as a two-hour "pop extravaganza" are banking on the success of last year's reunion tour of the 90s pop stars executed a few years ago.

A snitch dishes to The Sun, "The project is Geri's baby really but all the girls are backing it. The idea is for five relatively unknown actresses to take the parts and hopefully the girls will each have a say in who is cast."

Casting suggestions, anyone?

SNAPPED: Spice Girls Reunite Without Victoria Beckham

She only was missing out on a dinner though.

Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm and Emma Bunton joined Geri Halliwell over dinner at the Palm restaurant in London's Knightsbridge before heading to Mayfair Hotel for cocktails.

But there was one noticeable absence from the party, Victoria Beckham. This was because Vicky is in the United States. She had a triumphant visit to New York Fashion Week, where she unveiled her DVB spring/summer 2010 collection.

News Bites: Office Nicky Hilton Makes A Citizens' Arrest

-Nicky Hilton took matters into her own hands when she was shoved to the ground by a homeless person. The fracas took place just outside the West Hollywood (and NOT with the individual pictured here) IHOP at 5 a.m. Saturday morning. L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. spokesperson said, "came up behind Ms. Hilton and pushed her. She's OK, but she was desirous of prosecution. She said, 'I am placing you under citizen's arrest!' "

-Reports that claimed former teen pop idol Debbie Gibson was losing her home to foreclosure are false, according to Us Weekly. Her rep clarified, "Much to the chagrin of media everywhere, Deborah is simply moving in with her boyfriend of the last year [doctor/documentarian Rutledge Taylor]." Well, our chagrin has nothing to do with it. We're happy for her!

-Congratulations to Sporty Spice! Melanie Chisholm gave birth to her baby girl Scarlet Starr on Sunday in London. The little one's father is Mel C.'s boyfriend Thomas Starr and according to the pop star's website, "Both mum and baby [are] doing fine."
