Carey Mulligan Coming Into Her Own

Share

Carey Mulligan has been introduced to us as Shia LaBeouf's girlfriend, but she is starting to bring in the attention all herself.  Unless you've been glued to BBC One you probably don't recognize this fresh-face 24 year old without Shia in tow.  Then again this British born actress of stage and film is hard to recognize due to her chameleon-like morphing into her characters.

She's received critical acclaim for her role in An Education, a film she wasn't even sure would be bought at Sundance.  Now, thanks to this exposure, she's landed a role in Wall Street 2 which also stars Shia.

Shia LaBefouf Wears Leather Well [ON SET]

Share

I'm really liking Shia LaBeouf's look in Wall Street 2: The Money Never Sleeps. The leather jacket suits him very well, and he's just looking so much more like a man these days. I'm sure the fact that he's wardrobe isn't t-shirts and jeans does help.

Michael Douglas on the other hand, is looking as if he's wearing leather on his face. Consider this a warning to stay out of the sun people.

Michael Douglas Prepares To Smooch Matt Damon As Liberace

Share

Prankster Matt Damon will soon find himself putting gay George Clooney jokes aside and getting serious for his role opposite Michael Douglas.

Douglas--who is currently filming Wall Street 2 until the end of the year--will star as Liberace with Matt taking on the role of the musician's younger companion. Douglas tells E! Online that he teased Matt about their upcoming kissing scenes by telling him, "Bring a lot of ChapStick, babe."

As for Matt, he's making jokes about the couple's on-screen trysts as well, telling Entertainment Weekly. "I'm not going to just show up on set and start kissing him. He's going to have to buy me dinner."

Nice. We can only imagine what will happen if Michael shows up on the set with a nice bouquet of flowers.

Shia LaBeouf Is Gearing Up For Wall Street 2 With A New Co-Star

Share

Seriously, can I please be Shia LaBeouf? First he got to be in Indiana Jones 4, and I don't care what you thought about that movie, that's awesome! And now the kid is getting even more awesome folks to star with him in Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps, the Oliver Stone-directed sequel to the 1980's classic.

Variety reports that Oscar-nominee Frank Langella has been tapped to play Lewis Zabel, a broker who mentors Shia's character and plays a huge role in the film's plot. So let me get this straight - Shia gets to be in a movie with Frank Langella, Michael Douglas, possibly Josh Brolin and it is directed by Oliver Stone?

That is so totally not cool. If your hand weren't already busted I'd bust it out of jealously. I mean, I wouldn't actually do that, but you get where I'm going with this. I guess as long as he's donating money to charity I can't hate him, right? Go ahead Shiantologists. Worship your god.

2009 Annual Costume Designers Gala: Undressed!

Share

Actor Peter Facinelli made an important point at the 11th annual Costume Designers Guild Awards when he showed up on the red carpet for the soiree dressed in socks, shoes and underwear. Showing his appreciation for those who dress up actors in their on-screen finery, the Twilight star braved the cold in his skivvies.

Host for the evening's ceremonies, Debra Messing went the opposite route, stepping out in an art-deco-looking gown with intricate beading and a plunging neckline. Topped off with jewelry that echoed the pattern of sparkles on her dress, the star of The Starter Wife looked old-school Hollywood glam. Her costume change was into something more haute couture, a strapless frock with a dramatic piece of jewelry that resembled a garland of silver leaves. Her turn as a brightly-colored 50s housewife was just as fun.

Sex and the City's Kristen Davis kept it simple and sexy in a halter-top red dress that flared out in an A-line. Oh yes, and let's not forget the cougarest of all the cougars in the land. Sharon Stone was there in a light-purple, a shocking departure from her beloved animal print.

In case you were wondering, Slumdog Millionaire really cleaned up.
