At first, it seemed like the tribute concert planned for September 26 in Vienna, Austria, was going to be a star-studded shindig. But now, Jermaine Jackson has held a press conference to promote the upcoming musical event and it seems that some of the original luster has faded in reference to the lineup.
Jackson told press of Chris Brown's potential participation in the project, "It's just up to what he's going through with his court case right now, but he's definitely going to work that out and be here."
However, reps for both Brown and singer, Mary J. Blige, have flat out denied any plans to perform at the tribute concert. Additionally, Natalie Cole might not be able to take to the stage either as the result of a scheduling conflict. In fact, Cole recently confirmed to TMZ that she will not be performing.
The performers confirmed for the event--for which VIP tickets are running up to $745--include Sister Sledge, Akon and German boy band US5. Hmmm, so yeah. It ain't looking so great.
Meanwhile, I'm thinking that if Jermaine could apply some of the magic that is keeping his hair looking so amazing and plastic towards snagging some decent artists, he might be able to save the show.
