We wish all of our readers the best in 2009! Without you we'd be literally nothing. Our goal is to make you laugh, keep you informed and bring you lots of pictures of the pretty people (sometimes not looking so pretty).

It's been a rough year here at Socialite Life. We had a URL change, we got a makeover, we had technical glitches and site freezes but (said with fingers crossed), things seem to be running much more smoothly now. We truly appreciate you patience during these growing pains.

Look for a few more changes - good ones - in 2009, along with some new features and site improvements.

We'll be back tomorrow, but in the mean time if you haven't already check out our 2008 Bitch Slap Awards.

Today's Recapist Highlight: Smallville

You know, sometimes it drives me crazy to be reminded (all too seldomly) how good Smallville can be.  More episodes like this one, please!

Night in the city.  Lois and Jimmy stroll the sidewalks, Jimmy trying to convince Lois that his theory about a stealth crime fighter in Metropolis isn't wack.  The only such hero Lois knows of is more into green leather and, uh, pointed demonstrations, and anyway, lately that person seems to have "hung up his bow."  Jimmy thinks Clark will see it differently, and he plans to ask Clark to write the story, since Lois is being all Doubty McPartypooper.  Good luck with that, Jimbo.

Just then, a mugger darts out of an alley and clobbers Jimmy to the ground, then turns to Lois, who of course fights back, Army brat style.  She shouts at Jimmy to get a shot of the guy's face.  Clark arrives in time to see Lois's struggle with the thug about to send her in front of a moving car, so he flits through the scene to knock the thug aside and Lois to safety.  Unfortunately for him, Jimmy's camera flashes at precisely that moment.

Today's Recapist Highlight: - I Love Money

After weeks and weeks of competition, sneakery, skankery and all-around stupidity, it's time to find out which reality television fame whore will be $250,000 richer. Megan is down to her last bathing suit and can't wait to use (what she is positive will be) her winnings to buy some new swimwear. Real knows he's in White Boy's sights. White Boy said that all alliances and teams are out the window. It's pretty icy in the house. Hoopz doesn't feel good about the deterioration of the relationship between her, Real and White Boy. CJ calls in and tells the final four that their next challenge is going to be "crazy" and "athletic." White Boy loves it already. Megan thinks she's "doomed". Oh, I hope so.

Today's Recapist Highlight: - Survivor

It's Night 6 at Fang. Crystal says, "We got rid of a major physical weak link," in voting off Gillian. I can't disagree. Randy, meanwhile, just thinks his whole tribe is useless and stupid. One example? We learn the next morning that they've been eating three meals a day. Are you kidding me? Where do they think they are? Sandals? Randy tries to get them to agree to drop down to only two meals a day, but GC doesn't want some old redneck honky telling him anything, or asking him anything, or telling him what he can ask, or something like that. GC's got a big, defensive chip on his shoulder, which is not endearing him to his tribe. Randy describes him as, "a cancer that needs to be excised." I don't like Randy, or GC. Let's go visit Kota and shake off some of that Fangy stench.
