Rafael Nadal Has A Good Start At U.S. Open




Battling tendinitis in his knees, tennis star, Rafael Nadal, triumphed in the first round of the United States Open. This is a happy rebound from his loss at the French Open.

Nadal said of his win over Richard Gasquet, "I served well. The backhand was working well, the forehand more or less. I think everything was good, but the forehand can get better."

All that tennis talk has me all hot and bothered.

Rafael Nadal Loses At French Open For The First Time




That my friends is the look of disappointment. Rafael Nadal's hopes of a record fifth successive French Open title were crushed into the Roland Garros red dust by Robin Soderling's Swedish sledgehammer on Sunday.

In one of the greatest upsets in the history of the tournament, the Spanish king of clay slumped to a first ever defeat here having racked up 31 wins in 31 outings since his 2005 debut.

Soderling's stunning 6-2, 6-7 (2/7), 6-4, 7-6 (7/2) fourth round victory came just a month after he'd won only one game in a 6-1, 6-0 rout at the Rome Masters, his third defeat in three matches against the world number one.

Rafael shed a few tears regarding the loss, but overall took the loss in stride.

"This is not a tragedy, losing here in Paris. It had to happen one day," said Nadal, who had not lost a set here since the 2007 final against Roger Federer.

"That's the end of the road, and I have to accept it. I have to accept my defeat as I accepted my victories: with calm."

Fernando Verdasco Takes His Party Train To Miami




Miami was the hot spot for young tennis superstars at the Sony Ericsson VIP party in Miami. Following his suspect encounter with Camilla Belle at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California, tennis star Fernando Verdasco jetted off to Miami to rub elbows with fellow tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova and Rafael Nadal.

The most famous siblings in tennis, the Williams sisters, showed off some drastically different styles on the red carpet with Serena opting for a body-hugging animal print dress and her sister Venus taking full advantage of her long legs.

Tennis is sexy, y'all.

Rafael Nadal & Xisca Perello: Scantily Clad & In Love



Working on recovering from a leg injury, Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal spends some quality time with his lady love Maria "Xisca" Francisca Perello while on vacation in Mauritius.

In case you hadn't noticed, the only thing these two love more than each other is hanging out in bathing suits. And can you blame them?

Any questions of stringy hair aside, this hardbodied couple looks like they know how to have a good time. And we're not just talking water sports.
