It's been a long career road since Weird Science, and even though he's always been on my personal A-List, Robert Downy Jr. is now on the official A-List.  Esquire has graced their cover with major motion movie star Robert Downey Jr., and this time, it's not his mug shot.

The Scott Raab article peppers the piece with quotes and references to the literal and metaphorical highs and lows of the forty-something actor's life.  Downey Jr. danced the lines that separate fame and infamy, sobriety and intoxication, and lawful and criminal since his youth, but by fate it seems his career has ultimately landed on the right side.  With appearances in movies such as Tropic Thunder, The Iron Man series, and Holmes under his belt, RDJ can finally relax and enjoy the stride that he hit "later than most folks," leaving the notions of rehab, jail and joblessness behind.

He's conquering personally as well.  In wife Susan Levin, "a chestnut-haired beauty from Chicagoland who came west for film school and became a heavy-hitting producer," Downey Jr. has found "the perfect, perfect, perfect matching of personalities and gifts."  He has one son, Indio Falconer Downey already, but doesn't rule out the possibility of having another child: "Speaking of artifacts. The ultimate artifact of our love. In a onesie."

The ex-con trouble child is now a Bently-driving, Rolex-wearing bona fide A-Lister who takes his success with great caution and keen perspective: "My whole story... I found my way out of the woods by a subtler and subtler trail of bread crumbs -- now I'm just in the business of the business, and the business of my life, and the mind-blowing opportunities -- and if nothing else, dude, I really love the way these ceilings look."   I love the freakin' enigma you are, Robert Downey Jr., and I sure hope that your rise to grace is a permenant move, dude.

Celebrating the life of musician, DJ AM, a fitting tribute was paid at the Hollywood Palladium by many of his famous friends following his burial. Coincidentally, it's the same venue where DJ AM spun with Jay-Z following his plane crash.

AM's ex-fiancee, Nicole Richie, showed up with the crowd of mourners looking extremely pregnant. Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan arrived at the event together, but after finding themselves the object of a paparazzi onslaught, they jumped back into their car for an alternate entrance.

Robert Downey Jr. also showed up with his wife for the event and like the other VIPs, he arrived early and went inside via a separate entrance.

Robert Downey Jr. Vampires. Sexy time. Bloody Disgusting has confirmed that Robert is in talks to take over the role of Lestat in the reboot of Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles. Everyone just needs a piece of the immortal these days, don't they?

Lestat, a nobleman turned vampire from the late 18th century, has been played twice on screen. The first in Interview With The Vampire by Tom Cruise and the second in Queen Of The Damned by Stuart Townsend. He is supposed to be a 20-year-old vampire with long blonde hair, so I don't know how RDJ is gonna pull that off.

But honestly, who cares? He is so hot that he can make anything work. Robert is like some sort of god. He's super amazing as Iron Man, he is going to be so fabulous and original as Sherlock Holmes, and now he may play a vampire?

It seems that if you want anything rebooted or to make something super huge, you turn to Robert. I hope his son Indio starts acting soon. How hot is that kid? I feel like such a creeper. Is anyone else out there feeling the creeper status? Please, tell me I'm not alone!

I would personally like to thank the person that decided to make a film with Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, and Rachel McAdams that is directed by Guy Ritchie. I guess the person I should be thanking is the producer of the film Sherlock Holmes, which has all of that!

The producer, Robert's wife Susan Downey, tells Starpulse, "[Guy Ritchie] did an amazing job, on a scale that no one's seen him work on before. He delivered. I think it's going to surprise people." Surprise me! I'm so ready to be surprised.

Guy Ritchie is mostly known in America for his violence and camera work in films like Snatch and RocknRolla, as well as his marriage to Madonna. That was a fun marriage while it lasted. Susan also says, "You'll see the flare and you'll see Guy's touch on it, but it's a whole different canvas."

Warner Brothers is getting ready to show some never before seen footage at San Diego's Comic Con this week, with Guy, Robert, and the rest of the cast there for a panel discussion. The film opens this Christmas, so I think we all know what Santa is bringing for the world! A sequel!

With the release of these new stills from Iron Man 2, the excitement continues to build. The frenzy will reach a boiling point when the stars hit Comic-Con this week.

"This is about the toughest group there is to impress," says Robert Downey Jr., reprising his role as playboy superhero Tony Stark. "They're watching your footage, every one of them waiting to Twitter whether you suck."

Director Jon Favreau's presentation, featuring unedited footage set to Black Sabbath's rock anthem of the same name, helped propel the film to $318 million, turned Downey into a summer action star and gave studios a template for wooing Generation Text.

"You can't underestimate how powerful this group is," Favreau says. "It's an unlimited press corps, all of them knowing how to communicate in a digital age. The geeks have inherited the Earth, and that's good news for us."
