With a thick Southern accent and a blond hairdo, it's hard to recognize that it's actually Sandra Bullock in her new film, The Blind Side. But the actress has returned to her dark brown roots to hit the red carpet for the premiere of the film in New York City--much to the relief of her family.

"They didn't like it at all," Bullock tells People magazine, sporting her dark tresses pulled back and a sleek black dress for the occasion. Of her husband Jesse James' reaction to her new do, Sandra says, "Thank God an important person in my life didn't want me being blonde. He was like, 'I don't like the blonde on you.'"

Meanwhile, Sandra's co-star, Tim McGraw looked as if he couldn't be happier to have his real-life blond wife, Faith Hill, on his arm to support him at the premiere of his most recent movie.

"Leigh Anne scared me from the minute she opened the door," Sandra Bullock told Entertainment Weekly of real life Leigh Anne Tuohy. "I was sitting in a chair in her house with my little hands folded in my lap. I couldn't say anything."

Sandra Bullock portrays Tuohy in the 'Blind Side', a film adaptation that recounts the story of the love and support a wealthy white Memphis couple gives to a homeless black teenager. Through the trials and tribulations, the family turns to each other and helps the teenager to enroll in college and eventually play for the NFL Baltimore Ravens. A heart-warming family film mixed with the pig skin, writer-director John Lee Hancock new a blockbuster before him.

However, Bullock was hesitant on sap until Tuohy showed her pistol packing sass. "At the end of the day, Leigh Anne took a little hand pistol out of her glove compartment and said, 'Y'all just need to carry one of these,'" Bullock remembers. "I kid you not. If you're her friend, she would stop at nothing to get done what she needed to get done for you. If you're her enemy, forget about it -- you're going to wish you were dead."

The stepmom to Jesse James' three children was convinced and signed on. Would you cross this Southerner's spitfire? I wouldn't!

It seems the real Tuohy is pleased with Bullock's performance. According to Entertainment Weekly Tuohy stated, "if she'd done a bad job, I'd have told you in a second -- I'm all about being honest. And she has nice ta-tas. I was elated about that."

Oh, that's sweet.

While the characters she plays are often goofy and inexplicably lovable, Sandra Bullock reveals in an interview with Parade magazine that she is far more high-maintenance in real life.

"Listen, I know I'm not easy to deal with. I'm controlling, and I want everything orderly, and I need lists...I'm difficult on every single level. I'm aware that I can be annoying," Sandra admits.

However, she believes that she has found her match in husband, Jesse James. Bullock explains, "It's lucky when you have a partner. It took someone like him who was unafraid. My energy can be daunting. Do you really want to wake up to this at 5 in the morning? Apparently, he did."

And as a stepmother, Sandra unexpectedly found peace in her highly organized life that she never anticipated could exist. She confesses, "I now know that anything sweet, really sweet, that I have was nothing that I planned. If you don't have kids and animals, you don't truly know what real life is about."

All the smiles and good times help to make up for the crazy baby mama drama.

Oh it's that time of the year again, when we recognize all the films of the year--and even more importantly, the outfits being worn by the celebrities who starred in them. A handful of notable newcomers are mixing and mingling with award show veterans. Young Gabourey "Gabby" Sidibe giggled as she gushed over her award, telling the San Jose Mercury News, "I think I was extremely naive when I showed up here tonight. This is a big thing."

The actress stars opposite Mo'Nique and Mariah Carey in the film, Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Saffire, and better start perfecting her red carpet strut because she's going to be a busy woman this awards season.

Carey Mulligan (Shia LaBeouf's rumored flame at the moment) also seemed overwhelmed at the event, having snagged the Hollywood Breakthrough Actress Award for her performance in An Education. She explained, "I'm in a little bit of a daze," Mulligan continued. "This is exciting. The photo bit is a little scary. The lights flash a lot and they made my eyes water, which is terrifying. But it's amazing."

Hilary Swank, who stars in Amelia and will most likely be walking the red carpet for the Academy Awards as a result, was all smiles in her black cut-out dress as she accepted her actress of the year.

She can act. She can brighten the set of any film set with just one smile. And now she's adding "combats baby momma drama" to the list? It would seem so.  Sandra Bullock is going to have quite a fight on her hands with her hubby's just released from jail, baby momma.  Recently, Sandra's husband, Jesse James, has gone on the offensive, filing a request with a judge in Orange County to review of his porn-star ex-wife, Janine Lindemulder's home environment.

"Good cause exists for the court to conduct a review to determine if [the girl] will be safe with [Lindemulder]," he said in a statement to the court. "She should be restrained from allowing the child around pornographers, drug addicts, guns and firearms, felons and other unsafe environments."

Aside from the whole marrying a porn-star and filming it for his television show, Jesse James appears to have improved his decision making skills. Lorenzo Lamas should take note.

The couple that works out together, stays together. Apparently that's the mantra of Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson. The couple were seen leaving the Fitness Factory after working out in West Hollywood, CA on Saturday.

Ryan's film The Proposal, co-starring Sandra Bullock comes out on DVD this Tuesday, October 13. MTV's Hollywood Crush got ahold of an alternative ending for the film. This could have made for an even more interesting film. Check out the clip after the jump.

After taking such a long break from romantic comedies, Sandra Bullock seems to have made a dozen at once. I feel like I see a preview for one of her new movies every few minutes.

Here she is in a strange-looking dress at the premiere of All About Steve, in which she stars with Bradley Cooper. I might be the only one who thinks this, but the trailer doesn't really entice me. I just keep thinking how that very tan, very blond woman sort of resembles a poor man's Sandra Bullock.

In any case, I'm glad she's tossed the blond hair, but not as much a fan of the dress or the weird boots. OK, I'm going to be real here. She looks kind of a mess. But I love her and have faith that she'll pull it together by the next red carpet.

Despite mixed review, Sacha Baron Cohen's latest mockumentary, Bruno, finished first at the box office by grossing $30.4 million. However, all is not great for Bruno. The film was first on Friday, dropped 39% on Saturday and came in third on Sunday. Ouch.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs came in at No. 2 with $28.5 million, dropping only 32 percent from last weekend. The animated family film has made $120.6 million in two weeks. Third place went to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen which grossed $24.2 million in its third weekend, bringing its total to $339.2 million.

Public Enemies (No. 4 with $14.1 million) and The Proposal (No. 5 with $10.5 million) round out the top five. The Proposal marks star Sandra Bullock's first $100 million picture since 2000's Miss Congeniality, and the romantic comedy should have no trouble passing 1994's Speed to become Bullock's biggest hit. The weekend's other new wide release, the teen comedy I Love You, Beth Cooper, opened at No. 7 with $5 million.

Sandra Bullock is working her way back into Germany by trying to get German citizenship. Bullock, the daughter of an American and a German opera singer, actually lived in Nuremberg until she was 12, and grew up speaking German and everything. She may be America's sweetheart, but the Germans are loving her as well.

At this point in Germany, a person born to German parents somewhere else may not hold two passports so they have to pick which passport they want. Germany is usually so organized, don't you think that they would have sorted something like this out by now?

Well Sandra, good luck to you as you try to become a German. No wait, sorry, I know you're already a German, I meant citizen. I'm trying to imagine The Proposal set in Germany. All I see is a silent German Expressionist film with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. Not gonna lie, I kinda like it.
