Star Trek hottie Chris Pine was seen out at the Silverlake watering hole, the Red Lion Tavern, with none other than The Hills brunette Audrina Patridge. And I couldn't be more disappointed in him.

Patridge seemed to shy away from the paparazzi attention in the foreground, as she hides behind her hair when the picture was snapped. I guess it should make sense that he's interested in her since she does appear to be perpetually gazing heavenward, her eyes focused on the final frontier and beyond.

But even when Chris is off the clock, he's still working hard to make sure he's promoting his sci-fi flick. He was spotted heading to a workout while searing an Enterprise spaceship, appropriately enough.

While Chris Pine had his mind blown when he encountered the first Capt. James Kirk A/K/A William Shatner, Zachary Quinto tells his story of running into his predecessor as the half-human, half-Vulcan Spock in the classic Star Trek series.

Quinto tells the Birmingham Post their first meeting took place in San Diego, where it was initially announced that Zachary would be taking on the role.

As Quinto recalls, "We hadn't been formally introduced and the elevator went up really slowly, then the doors opened and he just looked at me and said 'You have no idea what you are in for' and just walked out. I was like 'Wait, come back.'"

Well, that sounds terrifying...but logical! Good ol' Spock.

Star Trek's Captain Kirk, Chris Pine, dons some summer suits for GQ magazine. In the accompanying interview, he's asked about playing Captain Kirk, Star Trek fans and Lindsay Lohan. Here are a few of the highlights:

You play Captain James T. Kirk. Any razzing from old friends of late? It's pretty fucking inescapable. I play basketball with a bunch of guys at 9:30 a.m. and it's like, "Yo, wussup, Captain Kirk!" I don't have a smart comeback yet.

Surely tiptoeing around the rabid fan base--calling him "Mr. Shatner" and all that--must get old? The amount of dissection of the minutiae of this movie...I was blown away by the protectiveness. I'm definitely guilty of looking at the blogs, and I'm not a fan of the anonymity [of the Internet], how it allows people to just spew poisonous vitriol like vomit.

What was the state of the Lindsay Lohan circus when you starred opposite her in Just My Luck [in 2006]? She was making a lot of money and attracting a lot of attention from the paparazzi. It put in stark relief that I don't want that kind of life.

Taking the Starship Enterprise for a cruise around the world, the cast of Star Trek have pulled into port in Japan for the premiere of their film.

Led by sexy starlet Chris Pine, fellow sexy co-stars Eric Bana, Zachary Quinto, John Cho and Karl Urban joined him on the red carpet to bowl over Japanese fans.

I'm loving any excuse for these dapper men to dress up in suits. Each occasion warrants a Star Fleet salute.

Yowza! What would William Shatner have to say about these steamy Captain Kirk love scene shots?

While Chris Pine was sexy up the new Star Trek, Leonard Nimoy has a bit of a rough time on set. Nimoy continually fought back tears on the set of the sci-fi franchise's new movie - because he couldn't help but recall old pals who have passed away and former cast mates.

There was one scene he really struggled with - when Captain Kirk, played by Chris Pine, met Karl Urban's Dr. McCoy for the first time. DeForest Kelley, who portrayed the original McCoy, was a longtime friend of Nimoy's and died 10 years ago next month.

Nimoy tells TV Guide, "I started crying - and it still moves me now. I loved D-Kelley, salt of the earth. I cried a lot watching this production."

Aww. That's so sweet. Loving Mr. Spock even more.

Early big box office returns have made J.J. Abrams' version of Star Trek a success and its stars Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto action heroes.

Pine, who plays a young Capt. James Kirk in the film, has admitted that his version of the character was influenced by actor William Shatner. And in this sketch on this past episode of Saturday Night Live, Pine again borrowed from Shatner.

Paired up with his Star Trek co-star Zachary Quinto, Pine did his own version of Shatner's infamous "Get A Life" sketch in which Quinto pleads with avid fans of the sci-fi series, "You've got to stop harassing us."



These two represent a kinder, gentler version of the sketch, the original 1986 version featuring William Shatner in a vintage SNL clip can be seen after the jump.

29-year-old Chris Pine chatted with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and talked about his Hollywood legacy. His father, Robert Pine, starred on CHiPs as Sgt. Getraer and was in the audience to lend his support to his son.



On the show, Pine revealed that he during a fight scene for Star Trek, he accidentally broke a stuntman's nose. He elaborates in an interview with People, "The next take after that, this big stunt guy kicked me in the stomach. He said it wasn't on purpose, but I don't know."

All in all, Chris seems to be all kinds of adorable and charming and if his interview with Ellen doesn't win you over, then the vintage clip of him with his actor father singing a song should put your affection over the top.

When actor Chris Pine signed on for the role of Capt. Kirk in the J.J. Abrams remake of Star Trek, he knew he had some big shoes (and tight pants) to fill.

Portraying a young James Tiberius Kirk, Pine's trying to live up to the image portrayed originally by William Shatner, while still leaving his own mark on the character. "There was no sense in trying to re-create what Shatner had done because it was so specific. He was unique, singular, it was his take," Pine told the L.A. Times.

However, Chris claims his interpretation with not be a copycat performance. "I'm going my own way. My name is not William Shatner," the young actor adds. To wit, in this video of Pine and Shatner's first face-to-face encounter, Chris introduces himself to the sci-fi icon with a simple declaration of, "I'm Chris Pine."



Meanwhile, I love that this seems to be taking place at some kind of country hoedown. Yee haw!

The cast of Star Trek graced the red carpet tonight as the film premiered in London.

Simon Pegg and Chris Pine were among the stars at Leicester Square for the unveiling of the new movie, which chronicles the early days of the SS Enterprise.

Pegg, who wore a kilt for the event, described it as a "geek dream come true". It's the first time Simon has attended one of the many Star Trek premiere's that have happened all over the world. He adds an interesting flavor to the red carpet. Brit's Claire Merry and Camilla Dallerup graced the red carpet with Star Trek inspired outfits. Love it!

It has been rumored that the cast have been signed up for two more installments if the film performs well at the box office. I have no doubt that there will be many more Star Trek films to come.
