Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto looked stunning on the set of the forthcoming yet untitled Woody Allen film. She's seen here shooting scenes with co-star Josh Brolin and conferring with director Allen.

Shooting for the film, which also stars Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas and Naomi Watts, started in London on Monday, July 13.

Andy Roddick At Top Of Game Despite Wimbledon Loss




Come here Andy baby. Let Mama give you a hug.

Roger Federer won his 15th Grand Slam title, breaking Pete Sampras's record of 14 Grand Slam titles.

The 27-year-old claimed his 15th after winning a marathon Wimbledon final against Andy Roddick on Sunday.

The Swiss tennis player prevailed in the longest Grand Slam final in men's history, turning back a determined challenge by American Andy Roddick, 5-7, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (5), 3-6, 16-14.

Roddick was the heavy underdog, but it was clear right away that he was undaunted by the occasion. But it just was not his day.

"I just want to say congratulations to Roger. He's a true champion and deserves everything he gets," Roddick said. "I tried. Sorry, Pete. I tried to hold him off. It was a pleasure playing here Sunday in front of champions like Manolo Santana, Bjorn Borg, Rod Laver, Pete."

After pausing to compose himself, Roddick continued to say: "I still hope one day my name will be up there with theirs as a champion of this tournament."

Well played Mr. Roddick.

Evan Rachel Wood To Take On 'True Blood' Role




Actress Evan Rachel Wood is joining the cast of the HBO series True Blood. For a limited episode run, Wood will be playing Sophie-Anne, the vampire Queen of Louisiana!

Michael Ausiello reports that Sophie-Anne is a 500-year-old vampire from France who is charming, wily, ruthless and wise. She's a consummate diplomat who has (or had) many of history's most famous people on speed dial.

If the show gets picked up for a third season, Wood will be back. Now if she could only bring Henry Cavill along with her. Henry and Evan took photos at the Tribeca Film Festival 2009 portrait studio in promotion for their Woody Allen film, Whatever Works. Drink in the twosome's beauty!

Henry Cavill Continues To Give Good Face




Whatever Works, Woody Allen's latest film starring Ed Begley Jr., Patricia Clarkson, Larry David, Evan Rachel Wood and British actor Henry Cavill is set to open the Tribeca Film Festival. The premiere will take place on Wednesday, April 22, and the Festival will run through May 3.

Penelope Cruz Wants To Win The Oscar For Spain




Actress Penelope Cruz would like to with the Oscar for her nominated performance (in the supporting actress category) in Woody Allen's Vicky Christina Barcelona as an homage to her homeland, Spain.

Imdb.com quoted her as saying: "I am eternally indebted to the Academy (and) to Woody Allen who gave me this opportunity. I am very happy to see all the affection and congratulations I have received, especially those from Spain. Let's hope I can bring it home."

This is the second time Cruz has been nominated for an Academy Award. She was previously nominated for the film Volver in 2006. It's not going to be easy this year, as she faces tough competition. Good luck beautiful lady.

2009 Golden Globe Awards: Film Winners




Heath Ledger was among the winners in the film category for the 66th annual Golden Globes held by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The Dark Knight actor was posthumously awarded the prize for his turn as the Joker in the Batman film.

Kate Winslet accepted her award for her turn in Revolutionary Road, opposite her Titanic co-star Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as for supporting actress in The Reader.

Mickey Rourke, clearly on a career upswing, won big for his movie The Wrestler. But the big winner in the drama category was the Danny Boyle-directed film Slumdog Millionaire, winner of the picture, director, original score and screenplay.

On the comedic end of things, Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona for Best Picture, Musical or Comedy.
