While Chris Pine was noticeably absent from the DVD release party for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek, other sexy Star Trek stars picked up the slack for young Captain Kirk, including the lovely Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Morrison, John Cho and Karl Urban, to name a few.

Zachary Quinto--who took on the role of Spock in the film, handed down to him from Leonard Nimoy--turned up at the event looking adorably nerdy in his glasses and sweater. The Heroes star tells Entertainment Weekly that the cast "did do plenty of laughing off camera." And if you don't believe it, you can check out the gag reel on the DVD.

Most specifically, Simon Pegg was the most common offender of causing on-screen laughter, but Quinto adds, "J.J. leads with a sense of humor." I'm really, really hoping there's a tickle fight in there somewhere.

Zachary Quinto is mulling over his first post-Star Trek role. Risky Business reports that  although not confirmed, Quinto may be attached to the romantic dramedy, Whirligig.  The Heroes villain would play the lead role in the Canadian indie, about a man who tries to woo an older woman by befriending her adopted son. 

Stark Trek has made both Quinto and his co-star, Chris Pine, household names.  Both actors have seen a bump in their careers as a result of the blockbuster.

Remember when Zachary was on So NoTORIous?  Yeah...me too.

The murder of Matthew Shepard in 1998 opened a national discussion about homophobia and hate crimes, inspiring the Tectonic Theater Project to travel to Laramie to interview the town's inhabitants and put together the play, The Laramie Project.

Ten years later, celebrities like Zachary Quinto, Lisa Edelstein, Julie Benz and James Cromwell (among others), showed up to the Hollywood United Methodist Church in Hollywood, California for a reading of The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later.

In keeping with the spirit of the event, attendees kept their looks low-key and eschewed walking an actual red carpet.

The three funny ladies that headlined the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center 38th Anniversary Gala at the Hyatt Regency Century Hotel in Los Angeles had the crowd in stitches Saturday night.

Heroes star Zachary Quinto presented Coco Peru aka Clinton Leupp the Board of Directors Award, Jay Leno presented Wanda Sykes the Distinguished Achievement Award while Chelsea Handler served at the evening's hostess.

Glee fans were given a treat with Amber Riley performing for the crowd.

OK, so here's to hoping that Pamela Anderson was simply attending the 6th Annual Hollywood Life Style Awards and not being recognized for her fashion choices over the past year. The blond pinup showed up to the event in what looks like a giant, light-pink satin sheet that was attacked by a gang of alley cats.

Other starlets in attendance opted for a more classic look. Heroes stars, Hayden Panettiere and Zachary Quinto were appropriately stylish with the on-screen cheerleader donning a fetching lavender mini dress and the Star Trek star looking dapper in an all-black suit and blue tie.

Kim Kardashian showed of her curvaceous figure in a clingy, white dress. In a black, 80s-retro mini-dress, Disney Channel star, Selena Gomez looked polished and pretty. Katie Cassidy from Melrose Place looked regal in her up-swept hairdo.

Heroes and Star Trek hottie Zachary Quinto had a busy Saturday night. He attended the Autism Speaks 7th Annual Acts Of Love Benefit at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica, CA. The event toasted those who have contributed and made a difference to the Autism community.

Afterwards, Zachary headed to Bardot in Hollywood for a night out with his pals. Zach sure does clean up well.

Zachary Quinto started off his day with a flat tire. Stranded on the side of the road in Los Angeles, the determined Quinto with the help of his friend, successfully swapped out the tires, with only a little difficulty, but as the actor grinned at photographers one couldn't help wondering if he was wishing for some of his characters "abilities" to facilitate the process!

Once he got home after changing the flat tire, he took his dog for walk and then took himself for a walk while chatting on his cellphone.

It was a casual day out for Heroes star, Zachary Quinto, this past Labor Day. The star--who most recently was seen campaigning to save video arcade games--is taking a break from his various causes, promotion for his various projects and generally being a science-fiction icon to just hang out with some friends.

Dressed in an interesting array of garments, which consisted of a grey wife-beater, frayed jean cutoffs, sunglasses, a porkpie hat and bright sneakers, Zachary looked a far cry from his spit and polish Star Trek character, Spock.

However, on all days for him to choose to be so grungetastic, Labor Day is definitely the most appropriate.

Heroes star Zachary Quinto is using his sci-fi fan base to rally for the cause of saving arcade games.

Quinto--who takes on the role of Spock in the most recent version of Star Trek--showed up at an arcade in Glendale to support the Stride campaign to Save the Arcades. NBC explains, "So brief: Arcade aficionados are asked to head for the STRIDE site, play an online game called Zapataur, and help raise $25,000 for one of four arcades chosen to participate in the Save the Arcades push."

Zachary seems so down to earth. Saving video arcades, cleaning up after his dog. What's not to like?
