Rumors are swirling like the crack smoke around Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse about the possibility of a Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon engagement. Hence Jake's facial expression. No one should have to marry their favorite shopping partner. They're a companion for outlet shopping sprees! Not life!
A source says that Jake and Reese are thinking of taking the plunge.
"They've been talking marriage for a while. They'll be formally engaged any day now. They want to spend the rest of their lives together," the source reports.
Apparently, Witherspoon wants to make things official for the sake of her two children with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe - Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4.
"This is a very serious relationship. But Reese is very conservative and traditional. I'm sure she doesn't want her kids to see her 'living in sin'," the "friend of the actress" says. Jesus, take your habit and wimple off, Reese. It's 2008. She probably calls her breasts "dirtypillows", too.

A reader sent in a dated, but juicy item about a newly single Hollywood leading lady. Granted, the subject header said "stirring up some old shit," but since it's newsworthy that said star is back on the market, we figured we'd share.
According to our tipster, she moved out to Hollywood back in 1996 and roomed with "a short pretentious black woman" whom we'll refer to as Edina. Allegedly Edina met the A-lister at a concert where Edina was a singer and their relationship persisted on and off for about a year.
The superstar actress even bought a cabin in North Carolina (Edina's home state) so that they could be together. But when the Tinseltown hot-shot wanted to get pregnant, the couple started squabbling and ultimately, the relationship came to an end as a result. However, they did manage to squeeze in an occasional tryst during the movie star's pregnancy.
The little birdie told us, "Before that [Edina] liked the fellas but I guess if _____ has a crush on you, you consider switching sides."

Mariah Carey and her incredibly lucky husband Nick Cannon brought their love to the Operation Smile event at Skylight Studios in NYC last night. Mariah is running around feeling the fever of love and nuptials and hopefully making sure that prenup is iron-clad. Otherwise she's going to lose half of everything when these two split. The butterfly farm, the unicorn stables, and the cotton candy lamb corral. Tee-hee!
Operation Smile is a global effort to help fix kids facial deformities and advocate affordable healthcare systems for children and their families. Mariah probably barely read the brochure. She just wants to look at her ring and repeat "Mrs. Nick Cannon" to herself over and over again. Like a mantra.

The 14-year relationship between Jodie Foster and movie producer Cydney Bernard that was only recently publicly acknowledged appears to have come to an end. The couple has reportedly been fighting more and more as of late. Only five months prior, Foster mentioned her long-time partner during an acceptance speech for an award.
And in other news, gays can now get married in California. Coincidence? Well, let's just say that it sounds a bit suspect that suddenly, Jodie's biggest excuse for not making an honest woman out of Cydney very disappeared on the same day the two conveniently split.

Jennifer Aniston is turning into a Mayerhead, traveling from Florida to New York to be with John. The couple hit up the Waverly Inn for a cozy dinner for two. A friend of Jennnifer's revealed to the Daily Mail that the Friends star is head over heels for her new guy. "Jen's already telling friends she's falling in love with this guy."
I'm already over them and I don't even think this has been going on all that long. It's almost making me nostalgic for the whole John and Jessica situation.

John Mayer's looking glum. Is his new, well-toned shadow weighing him down? If John was thinking he could shake Jennifer after a few casual pool canoodles, he's got another thing coming. The He's Just Not That Into You star was spotted at a recent concert of Mayer's, looking quite taken with her new beau.
Just offstage, Jennifer was snapping pictures of her crooning crush-object and gave him a big kiss when he stepped out of the spotlight and then returned to the stage for an encore.
She better hope that wonderland of a body of hers holds his interest. In any case, she's a better woman than I am. I couldn't fake liking his faux-sentimental warbling no matter how good the sex might be.

Dude, John Mayer has the hook up. Not that he doesn't make his own money, but it's definitely not Jennifer Aniston money we're talking about here. The two of them boarded a private plane in Miami following their vacation of canoodling, alert nipples and meaningful conversations over sparkling water and low-calorie, high-protein macro-biotic meals.
At the same time, it would seem that Aniston's got her little love bunny wrapped around her little finger, as she's boarding the plane, only to followed by Johnnie-Boy carrying her dog Norman. Nice. She's got him toting her pup around. Let him know his place. It's about time she got some.

Here's young Nick Cannon, being indoctrinated into Mariah's World. It's not all lollipop fences and glitter-covered cleavage as you can see by the mob of paparazzi that surrounded the newlywed couple as they tried to leave Gyu-Kaku restaurant. This kind of attention could old fast.
But it sounds like Nick's ready to make this high-profile marriage work and even has has babies on the brain. His half-brother Reuben Cannon dished to Us Weekly that Nick "definitely wants kids" but added, "I am not sure exactly if now is the time." Oh please, they're going to procreate immediately, if Mimi's not already with child at the moment. Her career is always going to be crazy, but just take a look at Jennifer Lopez. She didn't let a little thing like having twins slow her down.

Sting me, bumblee girl! And the purple shoes. Only someone as exquisite as as Rihanna could pull off this palette. I even like Chris' wacky robot t-shirt. Rihanna and Chris Brown were recently spotted making time at a KFC in Miami. These two have been all shifty about their relationship. Now the bumblebees out of the bag!
When Rihanna realized there was paparazzi on them on Wednesday night, she reportedly put her arms around Chris Brown's neck and "planted a lingering kiss on his lips." She's obviously had enough sneaking around.
Rihanna recently spoke about how close her and Chris Brown have gotten, but stopped short at defining their relationship. And now you know.
