In a good way. Madge better step her game up! Here's pictures from the opening night of Kylie Minogue's KYLIEX2008 tour in Paris last night. And Kylie was on! What have we got here? Bondage, electricity, wires, purple gowns, fetish. It's a smorgasbord of gay! All of Kylie's nine costume changes were designed by Jean Paul Gaultier.
Kylie is Jerry Lewis-big in France. She was just awarded the position of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by their Minister of Culture.
Kylie's ex-dude Olivier Martinez was in the house last night, watching the show. Despite their break-up in February of last year, they two seem to have maintained a friendship. Or maybe he's stalking her ass.
Enjoy these pics because Kylie appears to be unable to sell a record here. So this is the closest to her tour you're going to get unless you hop on an international flight of some sort.

Kylie Minogue will be awarded with one of France's highest cultural honors when she becomes a Knight in the Order of Arts and Letters on May 5. And won't that chainmail be gorgeous! France's Minister of Culture will be pinning it on her. Kylie will be in France anyway, when she kicks off her X2008 tour in Paris the next evening.
Kylie's latest disc, X, tanked here in the States. But you should get it. It's pretty good if you like poppy, effervescent dance tracks. It's gayer than Wentworth Miller and loads of fun.
I'd be like "I had breast cancer, you dicks! Buy my album. Damn!"

Kylie Minogue's latest album, 'X,' was a flop in the U.S., only reaching 143 on this week's Billboard charts. The album sold only 6,000 copies in it debut week, which is a far cry from its international success last November.
In it's international debut 'X' reached #2 in Britain, and #1 in Kylie's native Australia.
But the low numbers weren't for lack of trying. Kylie and her record label promoted the album heavily the past couple weeks, with appearances on 'Dancing With the Stars,' NBC's 'Today,' and the 'Ellen DeGeneres Show.'
'It's a slightly weird situation for me because I can still walk the streets here (in Los Angeles) and no one will recognize me. I love it,' she said in an interview earlier this year.
Good thing that Kylie is a tough one, and can see the bright side of being not-so-famous here in the U.S. I suppose after beating breast cancer, everything else seems not as important.

Kylie Minogue made an appearance on 'Ellen' yesterday, and she candidly discussed her battle with breast cancer.
She warned the aiduence that, 'Because someone is in a white coat and using big medical instruments doesn't necessarily mean they're right.'
When Kylie was concerned about a lump in her breast, her first physician failed to diagnose that it was cancerous. It wasn't until she went for another check-up that the disease was discovered.
Ellen DeGeneres is also a breast cancer survivor. She once had a mammogram that came out clear, but found a lump in her breast only a couple weeks later.
Kylie advised the audience, 'You must follow your intuition and if you have any doubt go back again.'
The singer said later, 'I don't want to say that to frighten people but that's just a fact.'

Here's Kylie Minogue at the airport. The gays just love her. She likes elaborate costumes, sings pop songs, and told cancer to f*ck off. Screw you, Madge, Kylie beat cancer! Kylie appeared on the Today show with Matt Lauer, and denied reports that she's planning on marrying Olivier Martinez onstage during a concert in the Czech Republic. That's almost as weird as people who get married while skydiving or underwater or on roller coasters. Or in KISS makeup.
Kylie's answer to Matt asking her about that was "News to me. Nooooooooo!" She also went on to say that her and Olivier are done, done, and done. Didn't his ass cheat on her? Once you've kicked cancer's ass, you have no time for trifling men.
Kylie's new album, X, drops today and she's doing press all over the place. She's gigantic in Europe but, much like Robbie Williams, has never broken over here. It's a travesty! They're both hot, but but in entirely different ways. Admittedly, I do have some tracks from it on my iTunes. What? It's perky! It's not like I'm listening to it while wearing a showgirl costume!

Sinead is not happy to see us. That is the look of a woman whose next move is to put out her cigarette in the face of the individual taking this picture. And, I'm hoping that these guys are working like the velociraptors in "Jurassic Park," with another one hidden in the bushes, ready to catch that cigarette burn photo-op. See? If you blog long enough, this will be how you start to think.
But photographers' lenses aren't the only thing annoying Sinead these days. She's got a bone to pick with Kylie Minogue, whose music she describes as "unlistenable." The Irish singer said, "I know Australian fans might want to shoot me for saying this, but that would be a far better option than to listen to one of her albums."
Australian fans? Girl, try her fans around the world. Well, she's definitely entitled to her opinion. Kylie's not for everyone.

I'm starting to think that fashion-wise, British red-carpet events are infinitely more interesting to look at that their Hollywood counterparts. Recently, I posted on the bizarre outfits that I saw at the London premiere for "The Other Boleyn Girl," and now here's the red carpet for the Brit Awards (luckily NOT referring to the extremely troubled American pop star) and the clothing looks straight fashion-school dropout in some cases.
Rihanna's cute and I like the cut of the dress--it's just so SHINY. Well, I guess it is eye-catching. I kind of love Kelly Osbourne's dress, with the geometric pattern and colors, but her make-up scares me a little. It's just so intense. I think she wants to bite out my throat.
Our favorite celebrity hanger-on is dressed predictably odd, wearing a shower-cap and fur and I haven't decided which of the two is most offensive. There were also some really stunning people whose names I don't know--I need to start paying more attention to those stars from across the pond, but at this point, Amy Winehouse takes up most of my time.

Here's the red carpet at the Elle Style Awards at The Westway in London and I can't tell if this is some unapologetic lighting or what, but Keira Knightley is looking gaunt as hell. Someone get a bounce on this woman! In the thumbnail below, Kate Hudson looks like the spitting image of her mother. I love her sassy smile and her bangs, even if I'm not a big fan of her inane romantic comedies. Her eclectic, bohemian style won her an Elle Style Icon and I have to say that I usually enjoy whatever she's wearing. According to Elle, she's "distinctive and kooky." Love it.
And in the pictures after the jump, you can seem more pictures of Keira, who seriously looks like a starving Goth kid. I really do think that at least some of it is weird lighting, but still, I'd check her neck for fang marks, just to be safe. She went home with the best actress prize, while her "Atonement" co-star, James McAvoy nabbed best actor.
Kylie Minogue took home the honor of Woman of the Year and I couldn't agree more.

Robert De Niro is hit up the red carpet with wife, Grace Hightower, on his way to accepting a Golden Camera award in Berlin. The Golden Camera awards are essentially the German equivalent to the Golden Globes and Bobby received a Lifetime Achievement award. Also, Kylie Minogue was there to receive her award for Best International Music Act.
I didn't even know Robert De Niro was married--I had to get all Google on his ass--and am seeing that Grace here is wife number three. I don't know how I feel about her outfit. I feel like if I squint, it's rather fabulous, but also a little overwhelming. It's like sexy funeral-wear.
Hilary Swank was there too and I don't know if she was being honored, but I kind of feel like she's got a few too many textures going on in that outfit. And I have my suspicions that there's a very expensive hotel in Berlin right now, scratching their heads right now as to where their red curtains went.
