Where's your baby? Nicole Richie, her dad Lionel, Justin Timberlake, and Fergie were among some of the celebrities who attended the 25th Annual Pop Music Awards sponsored by ASCAP. ASCAP collects public-performance royalties for its member songwriters and copyright owners. Get that paper, oldies!
Lionel and Steve Miller of "Fly Like An Eagle", "Abracadabra", and every unimaginative musically inclined frat boy you ever met fame received Golden Note lifetime achievement awards for all their years in the biz.
"I never saw myself receiving any awards or doing anything," Steve Miller, 64, said during his acceptance speech. Miller took to the stage and performed six songs. SIX SONGS? Did these people know they were in for a Steve Miller show at the Kodak Theatre? It must have reeked of weed. Were people playing hackey sack and drinking Keystone in between bong hits?
Timbaland took the award for Songwriter of the Year, and Fergie and Gwen Stefani tied for the Song of the Year awards with "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "The Sweet Escape." Who voted for THAT song? If there was one pop song last year that could inspire a hack-n-slash, it was that one.
Lionel didn't perform, but he did scream at Nicole to go home and actually hang out with his grandchild. Ok, he didn't but he should have! Da Brat obviously isn't watching the kid like she was paid $20 to if she showed up! You know she's had to resort to that ever since she and Missy Elliot broke up years ago.

Little girls! Playing dress-up! What is this? Shuffleboard, anyone? Here are pictures from Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards last night. Who is styling the children these days? Captain Merrill Stubing?
I guess I should admire the creativity, but things have gotten berserk lately. It is refreshing to see the boys wearing the disaster costumes, though. We've got 50s college professors (Drake Bell and Shia LeBeouf), shell-shocked Vietnam War veterans (Emile Hirsch), and Studio 54 rentboys (Josh Peck). Josh Peck seriously has that Jordache look. Ooh la la!
Check out the photos from the show here.

Good grief, you can't even sit through a movie without someone throwing doll parts at you and screaming that you're murdering babies! Here's Jim Carrey, Jenny McCarthy and Jenny's son and Jim's daughter at the premire of the new animated flick "Horton Hears A Who!". You would think this would be an exercise in family time. No, because some right to life people chose to crash the the party at Mann Village Theatre and protest abortion. Victoria Beckham and Steve Carrell were also in attendance.
Reportedly, the protesters were inspired by the message of the film which is ""After all, a person is a person no matter how small." They got up after the film ended and began chanting and then sealed their mouths with red tape which read "Life". Well, that part's not bad. I'm all for silent protest. Just don't get in between me and my preztel bites. I promise, I won't abort my baby. Now shut up.

It seems as if Jesse McCartney has accidentally let the cat out of the bag about Jennifer Lopez's (as yet unoffically anounced) pregnancy. From the Atlanta Journal Constitution online:
In an otherwise innocuous interview, McCartney disclosed that he is dating actress Katie Cassidy, daughter of baby boomer teen idol David Cassidy. He then spilled that his gal pal has been cast as Lucy Ewing in the big-screen adaptation of the 1970/1980s TV soap "Dallas." Then Locke inquired, "Oh, so I bet your girlfriend can give us the scoop on why Jennifer Lopez was fired from the movie?" Without thinking, McCartney replied, "She didn't get fired. She's pregnant." Oops. J-Lo and hubby Marc Anthony haven't exactly made that news public yet. Locke reports that McCartney then looked nervously over at his female handler and quickly changed the subject. "It was kind of a 'Oops, what did I just do?' moment," Locke told Buzz. "It quickly became 'Can we just talk about the record?' When the microphones were off, he just looked at the woman with him and asked, 'Was I not supposed to say anything?"
Someone please remind me to play some high-stakes poker with this kid.

I'm feeling so out of the loop right now. I had no idea that Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey were dating. Apparently the couple has been dating since this last December. The gals from The View tried to pry the news out of her, but she wouldn't give up any details. She used the "no comment" line on the double team of Star Jones and Joy Behar.
The pin-up, who is known for candidly discussing divorce, childbirth and motherhood, was uncharacteristically tight-lipped about her new relationship.
She said, "No comment. Does that ever work? The funny thing is I've never said it in my whole life!"
The View co-hosts Star Jones and Joy Behar asked McCarthy if she could confirm that she was dating "a well-known comedian who makes funny faces who is not Jerry Lewis".
McCarthy deferred and said people who were interested in who she is dating could "look it up online", hastily adding, "Let's move on to the next topic."
The Truman Show star was recently spotted enjoying an intimate dinner with McCarthy on May 20 at Los Angeles hot spot M Cafe de Chaya.

I am shocked and appalled by this. I would like to speak out on behalf of all the underage individuals in America (yes and old person is going to speak for you). If 18-year-old Jesse McCarthy is allowed to drink than why can't 19-year-old Janet Witherspoon from Akron, Ohio? Denying Janet her Corona, or Red Bull and Coke, is like denying Lindsay Lohan a couple of lines in the restroom at Mood. It's just plain wrong!
Jesse McCartney is a teen idol -- a hot young singer. The 18-year-old is learning the perks of Hollywood -- that you can illegally enter a nightclub and drink, no questions asked.
This photo of McCartney was taken last Saturday night at Mood, one of the hottest clubs in Hollywood. Under California law, no one under 21 is permitted to enter the club, much less drink inside. But the Corona in Jesse's firm grip tells a very different story.
TMZ has video of other underage stars entering and leaving Mood -- 19-year-old Mary-Kate Olsen, 19-year-old Lindsay Lohan, 20-year-old Frankie Muniz, and the list goes on, though we don't know what they did when they were inside. How do they get away with it? A Hollywood nightclub promoter, who asked to remain anonymous, was blunt: "Authorities know that there are underage celebrities inside drinking and if they don't care, why should we?" He added the obvious: "Celebrities help to make our clubs more exclusive."
TMZ contacted Jesse McCartney's reps, who had no comment.
I personally think that Jesse should issue an apology to all the non-celebrity underage drinkers in America. We're waiting.
